Greetings from C. Darby Ulery, founder of "Let's Go! Fairhope" events-related newsletter, calendar and website resource for Fairhope, Alabama.

When's the last time you checked your spam? If you're like me, hardly ever. A conversation regarding a missing email this week sparked a click on that folder. While I didn't find the specific email I was searching for, I discovered another message that was accidentally delivered there that made me smile out loud and was helpful to me regarding another topic.

It left me wondering... What else am I missing? Where else might I not know to look? Have you happened upon something, or maybe even someone, you wish you would have known to look for sooner? I'd love to hear your story.

Highlights this week:

  • Baldwin Pops Salute to First Responders Concert
  • International Walk to School Day
  • First Friday Art Walk
  • Rock, Paper, Scissors Competition
  • Makers Market Sunday
  • Hatch Fairhope public meetups
  • Live music
  • 131 happenings uploaded to the electronic calendar... and more

Twilight officially ends before 7 PM this week, but Fairhope events continue to shine. If you'd like to be connected to even more local events-information around the Gulf Coast, I recommend our friends at the Mobile Rundown. Join their email list: https://themobilerundown.com/yesplease

"ENRG"

ENRG meets once a month [...] for a 90-minute Level 10™ meeting. During that time we discuss an EOS® Toolbox item. [...] We are 100% focused on EOS® and our primary criteria is that you are interested in EOS® and have read or are currently reading the book Traction®.

To understand more about this terminology, LG!F did a search...

What is Traction?

According to Amazon.com:

"Traction: Get a Grip on Your Business" is a 2012 book by Gino Wickman.

According to eosworldwide.com:

What is EOS?

Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS), is a people operating system that harnesses human energy through a simple set of tools and principles.

What is Level 10?

As part of the [EOS], the Level 10 Meeting (L10) creates a standard structure for productive meetings. [...] EOS lays out a template for team meetings to focus on the most important things each week without the nonsense.

(A search for "ENRG" resulted in "Endovascular Neurosurgery Research Group" which doesn't sound exactly right... ; ) But I bet Rick Miller has the answer! Stay tuned to Let's Go! Fairhope for updates, or contact Hatch.)

International Walk & Roll to School Day

Baldwin County Public Schools

Starts at 7:30 AM

Please join Baldwin County Schools in participating in International Walk and Roll to School Day on October 2, 2024.

International Walk to School Day is an annual observance to create awareness for walkable communities. It has since grown to become a series of international events taking place in more than 40 countries.

Thousands of students in schools across the globe take to the streets and participate in IWTSD events in their local communities each year. Walk & Roll (ADA inclusivity) to School Day events help teach our children safe walking and biking skills, reduce traffic and air pollution near our schools, and help children get more physical activity.

Choices and Challenges of Aging Workshop

-Open to the Public-

Fairhope Christian Church, 349 Fairwood Blvd., Fairhope, AL 36532

Click here to read more about this and additional workshops

We don’t like to think about, much less talk about, the fact of life that each of us one day will die. It is not IF, but WHEN and under what circumstances we will die. While we do not have control over the when, we do have some control over our choices about how we want to experience that time.

In this workshop some of the questions we will explore are:

  • What are our options, choices as we age?
  • Who do I want to make decisions for me if I am no longer able?
  • How do I want to be treated?
  • What do I want others to know and when?
  • What legal documents do I need and what other paperwork could I use?

Jim Clifford, retired Pastor and Hospice Chaplain will lead this workshop. Jim has 35 years in pastoral ministry, over 5 years in hospice ministry, and a Certificate in Thanatology (Retired), the study of dying, death, and grief. If you are interested in attending, please contact the church, 251-928-8495.
