Dear LT Community,

As we close the first quarter of the 2026–27 school year, we are enjoying once again all that makes Lyons Township High School such an incredible place. Our students continue to excel in academic, athletic, and extracurricular pursuits, supported by the dedication of our staff and the partnership of our parents and guardians and extended community.

The highlights below capture just a few examples of the outstanding work taking place across LT as we continue our journey into the second quarter.

Strategic Plan

District 204 is excited to have launched a new community-engaged strategic planning process that will guide our district from 2027-32. To kick off this work, ninety six people, including students, staff, alumni, parents, Board members, neighbors and community members on our Strategic Plan team have begun to develop a shared vision of the future of the district. And, we appreciate everyone who took the time to complete the strategic plan survey that was sent to our community in September. To follow along on our strategic plan journey, please visit the LTStrategic Plan Website.

100th Anniversary of LT‘s First Homecoming & Hall of Fame

Thank you to the entire LT community for coming together to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of LT‘s First Homecoming! From the campus tours, cheers at our games and enjoyment at the parade, your support and pride made this a special weekend. Congratulations to our 2 new Hall of Famers Michael Brewer (Class of 2001) and Don Wirth (Class of 1963). Michael has built an extraordinary career in aviation, serving as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, a member of the prestigious U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, a United Airlines Captain, and an aviation educator and mentor. Don has enjoyed an incredible 54-year career as an outdoor journalist and photographer, becoming one of the most respected and widely read voices in the world of freshwater fishing. I invite you to learn more about these two extraordinary individuals by visiting the Hall of Fame webpage.

Please Consider Joining the LTCAC

Would you like to share your voice regarding current and future initiatives at Lyons Township High School? We are currently seeking volunteers to serve on the LT Community Advisory Council (LTCAC).

The LTCAC meets each quarter to learn about, discuss, and provide feedback on important school-related topics. It’s a great way for members of our community to engage in productive discussions that make our school continuously better for our students. It is also a key communication link between our school and our entire community.

LTCAC members include students, parents, community members, staff, administrators, alums, and school board members. Meetings will begin at 6:30pm and will be held at South Campus Cafeteria/Commons.

2026-27 Remaining Meeting Dates: 11/12, 1/28, 4/15.

For more information, visit the LTCAC webpage. If you are interested in participating with the LTCAC, please email Marilyn Zydlo at mzydlo@d204.lths.net.
