Releasing My 2026 Border Security Plan to Protect Americans and Uphold the Rule of Law
Securing our borders and enforcing our immigration laws are among the most basic responsibilities of the federal government. Having visited both our Northern and Southern Borders and spoken directly with the men and women on the front lines, I released my 2026 Border Security Plan to build on the progress President Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan have made restoring order to our immigration system. My plan prioritizes giving Border Patrol and ICE the personnel, technology, and resources needed to combat illegal immigration, fentanyl and human trafficking, while strengthening Northern Border security and holding criminal illegal aliens accountable. Our immigration system must put American citizens and legal residents first, uphold the rule of law, and keep dangerous criminals and illicit drugs out of our communities.

| | Releasing My 2026 Law Enforcement Plan to Support Police and Keep Communities Safe | | |
Every day, law enforcement officers across our country put on the uniform knowing they may be called into harm's way to protect someone else. My 2026 Law Enforcement Plan is focused on standing behind these courageous men and women by ensuring they have the resources, legal protections, and modern tools necessary to do their jobs safely and effectively. It also advances stronger cooperation among federal, state, and local law enforcement, protections for officers exposed to dangerous substances such as fentanyl, and policies that hold violent criminals accountable. The officers who dedicate their lives to protecting our families and neighborhoods deserve to know that their government stands firmly behind them.

| | Leading Bipartisan Letter Urging DHS to Protect Nonprofit Security Grant Program | | |
Houses of worship and nonprofit organizations facing targeted threats deserve certainty that the resources available to protect their communities will be there when they need them. I joined Congressman Brad Schneider in leading a bipartisan letter urging the Department of Homeland Security to clarify and revise guidance for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, which helps eligible organizations make critical security improvements such as surveillance cameras and access control systems. Our letter encourages DHS to ensure organizations can confidently plan and invest in these projects knowing that approved security improvements will receive the support they expect. As threats against houses of worship and community organizations continue to rise, maintaining a strong and reliable program is essential to keeping congregations, employees, and communities safe.

As your representative in Congress, my top priority is championing legislative initiatives that benefit you and your families. Each week, I review numerous bills and letters, engaging in thorough discussions with members of our community to determine which actions to support and address your needs. Below are a few bills I recently cosponsored.
H.R. 3137, the Biodiesel Tax Credit Extension Act of 2025: This bill would extend federal tax credits for biodiesel, renewable diesel, and certain second-generation biofuels through 2026. Supporting domestic biofuel production strengthens American energy security while providing important markets for farmers and agricultural producers. This legislation provides certainty for biofuel producers, supports rural economies, and encourages continued investment in American-made energy.
H.R. 3037, the Access to Breast Cancer Diagnosis Act of 2025: This bill would eliminate out-of-pocket cost-sharing requirements for diagnostic and supplemental breast examinations covered by group and individual health insurance plans. Specifically, it would prohibit deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance for medically necessary diagnostic mammograms, breast MRIs, ultrasounds, and other supplemental examinations used to investigate abnormalities or screen individuals at increased risk for breast cancer. Removing financial barriers to follow-up testing can help patients receive timely diagnoses and begin treatment sooner when breast cancer is detected. This legislation helps improve access to potentially lifesaving breast cancer screening and diagnostic services while reducing the financial burden on patients and families.
H.R. 1513, the Unplug the Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Program Act: This bill would repeal federal programs that use taxpayer dollars to subsidize electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Federal transportation policy should prioritize responsible use of taxpayer dollars rather than subsidizing energy resources for one type of vehicle. This legislation helps rein in unnecessary federal spending, bring parity to all vehicle types, reduce government intervention in the vehicle market, and ensure transportation investments are driven by the needs of American motorists and communities.
| | Recently, I toured Heidelberg Materials' Stafford Quarry to learn more about its operations and the materials produced right here in Genesee County. The facility supplies limestone and other essential materials used for roads, construction, drainage, and other infrastructure projects throughout the region. The visit was a great opportunity to see the quarry's operations and speak with the team about their work and the issues affecting their industry. Businesses like Heidelberg Materials help provide the building blocks for the infrastructure our communities rely on. | | This week, I visited Oakfield Corners Dairy in Genesee County and sat down with the Lamb and Veazey families to discuss the issues affecting dairy farmers across our region. Our conversation covered workforce challenges, agricultural research, trade, and transportation, all of which directly affect family farms' ability to remain competitive. With multiple generations involved in the operation, their family has built a remarkable agricultural business while continuing to invest in their animals, their land, and the future of New York dairy. Hearing directly from producers is invaluable as I work in Congress to ensure our agricultural policies support the farmers who feed our communities and our nation. | |
Advanced manufacturing in Wayne County is helping power some of America's most demanding military and national security missions. At Ultralife Corporation in Newark, I saw how the company's locally manufactured battery, power, and tactical communications systems support our national security community, public safety agencies, and customers worldwide. As our military continues to modernize its technology, there is tremendous potential to expand American manufacturing and create more opportunities here in Upstate New York. It’s amazing to see a local company contributing its expertise and innovation to keeping our nation safe. | The skilled workforce at G.W. Lisk in Clifton Springs produces highly specialized components used in some of our nation's most advanced defense systems. I had the opportunity to visit the company's headquarters and learn more about its manufacturing of valves, sensors, solenoids, and other components used in military aircraft, missiles, ground vehicles, and nuclear submarines. With more than 700 employees at its Clifton Springs facility, G.W. Lisk is a major employer in our region and another great example of Upstate New York workers strengthening America's defense industrial base. | Clifton Springs Police Department | Keeping our communities safe starts with dedicated local law enforcement who know and serve the people they protect. I stopped by the Clifton Springs Police Department to meet Chief Robert Fuller and members of the department and hear more about their work serving the village. Chief Fuller has spent years with the department and brings his experience as a veteran who served in Afghanistan to his leadership of the force. I am grateful to Chief Fuller and all of our Clifton Springs officers for answering the call to serve and for everything they do each day to keep our neighbors safe.
