Help Shape the Future of Family Engagement in California
We’re excited to announce the formation of the CA-FEN's Board of Directors—and we’re inviting passionate leaders to apply!
Following the success of our 2024 Convening and the launch of our Strategic Plan, CA-FEN is establishing a new Board of Directors to guide our next phase of growth. We’re seeking 5–9 committed individuals to help drive our mission forward.
What We Are Looking For
We welcome applicants who bring:
✔ A strong belief in the power of family engagement to transform education
✔ Experience in one or more of the following: nonprofit governance, fundraising, finance, education, communications, or legal expertise
✔ Deep roots or networks in philanthropy, education, advocacy, or the private sector
✔ A commitment to advancing academic success through transformative cultural responsive family engagement practices
Board Member Commitment
- Attend quarterly board meetings (mostly virtual)
- Join at least one board committee
- Contribute $2,500 annually (financial or in-kind)
- Serve a two-year term (renewable)
- Estimated time commitment: 3–5 hours per month
