DISTRICT & COMMUNITY UPDATES

Dear Friend of Wellness:

I hope this September newsletter finds everyone well. As the saying goes...'better late than never'...I truly apologize for the delay, but due to some unexpected personal circumstances, it was not possible for me to deliver Edition III on time.

We continue facing challenges and we embrace those challenges together. That brings me to the word mutuality - the sharing of actions, internal feelings, thoughts, aspirations, joys, or relationships between two or more parties. This effort is when two or more sides work mutually for the betterment of each other - with responsiveness and respect.

Let us continue working together with true mutuality embracing and promoting the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child culture everyday.

Let's keep pressing on and...

Never Give UP!

Continue being a beacon of LIGHT for all the children and each other...

let's grow  STRONGER  together!

2021 Disaster Resources...

2021 Florida Tropical Training Recordings – The National Weather Service Offices that cover Florida offered tropical training sessions for emergency managers and the media during the week of May 17. This training covered information from the National Hurricane Center and the Florida Division of Emergency Management, in addition to the four main hazards associated with tropical systems.

Impact of COVID-19 on Hurricane Season – This is a good discussion on how planning for a natural or human-made disaster will be different due to the pandemic

United Way and its partners are sponsoring a 9/11 Day of Service. During this community volunteer event, they will be assembling and distributing 600 disaster kits. In addition, there will be a Community Disaster Preparedness Fair where several different trainings will be offered including HandsOnly CPR, Stop the Bleed, Drowning Prevention, Trauma Awareness, and Hurricane Simulation. The goal is to raise awareness on both natural and human-made disasters.
