Dear Friends of ECF,

As we head into the summer season, there is so much to celebrate and look forward to at the Exceptional Children’s Foundation.

We are especially excited for our 80th Anniversary Gala on June 17th, where we will proudly honor Jenni Kayne and Richard Ehrlich for their extraordinary generosity, leadership, and longstanding commitment to ECF and the individuals and families we serve. We are also thrilled that Jay Leno will be joining us for what promises to be a joyful, memorable, and inspiring evening celebrating eight decades of impact.

May is also Speech-Language-Hearing Month, a meaningful opportunity to recognize the incredible professionals, educators, therapists, and families who help individuals build communication, confidence, independence, and connection every single day. Their dedication changes lives in profound ways.

In addition, we are eagerly looking ahead to graduation season at the Kayne Eras School as we celebrate the achievements, growth, and bright futures of our remarkable students. Graduation is always one of the most inspiring times of year at ECF, and we could not be prouder of all they have accomplished.

ECF 80th Anniversary Gala

Graduation Season at Kayne Eras

The Kayne Eras Graduation will be held on June 5^th.

Please join us at 10:00 AM for a VIP reception and the opportunity to meet two of our graduates as we celebrate this important milestone.

New Board Member: Lara Kislinger

We are delighted to welcome new board member Lara Kislinger to the ECF family. We look forward to her leadership, insight, and support as we continue our mission serving children and adults with special needs.

Remembering Karen Kato

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Karen Kato, a beloved and extraordinary member of the ECF family.

Karen dedicated nearly 40 years of service to Exceptional Children’s Foundation, joining ECF in 1981 and serving until her retirement in 2021. As Chief Administrative Officer, she played a vital role in the growth and success of the organization through her leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our mission.

Karen was deeply respected for her professionalism, wisdom, and care for the ECF community. Her legacy will live on through the organization she helped strengthen and the many lives she touched over four decades of service.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, former colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her.
