The addition of courts and the Lifestyle Center near the front of the village has been a great catalyst to activate the area around Village Hall. So much so that we have been working on ways to respond to requests to provide additional parking.

We are considering moving the recycling center from the village hall lot to the lift station on Country Road South, across the street from 31 Country Road South.

This would clean up the village hall lot and open up additional parking spaces.

Let us know what you think about the idea. Send us an email or give us a call.

Time to make plans for your mail

It is the time of year when some of our residents are getting ready to leave us for the summer. With that comes mail forwarding.

If you are planning to forward your mail up north, you have a few options. In the upcoming weeks you can check your mailbox for more detailed information on the available services. If you have additional questions, you may contact village hall.

Finally, if you are planning on forwarding mail from another address (such as a home up north) to your village home, please let us know.

Construction begins next month

Construction season begins April 1st. If you are planning any work this summer, please make sure you coordinate with your contractor and the village to ensure your work is started and finished during the permitted time frame.

Please remember that you are responsible for ensuring your contractors obey all village traffic laws. If they are found to be in violation, they may be prohibited from traveling through the village, and required to park near the front gate.

Save the Date: Shred-a-thon

The Annual HOA Shredding & Donation Day is scheduled for March 23rd.

Shredding will be available from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Donations will also be accepted from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Coyote sightings may be up. Here's what you need to know

You're probably not in the habit of approaching coyotes on your property. But by the same token, you may have had one or two visits from them in the past. Coyote mating season is about to begin, and that tends to increase their boldness around people. If you spot one, please keep your distance. Remember:

  • Feeding Coyotes is illegal. They will lose their fear of humans.
  • Secure garbage cans. Clean up pet food and fallen fruit.
  • Keep pets in enclosed areas. Walk dogs on a short leash.

If you see a coyote in the village, please call security at 561-734-2918 to report it.

Coyotes are an important part of the landscape in Florida. They help maintain healthy ecosystems by managing populations of rodents, insects and other small animals. By preventing conflicts, we can better exist with coyotes and other wildlife.

Don't get pulled over

We want to remind you the speed limit inside the village is 25 miles per hour. This is for your safety as well as the safety of your neighbors walking along the side of the road.

Please obey the limits, and avoid a possible ticket. If you are stopped by a law enforcement officer inside the gates, you could receive a Uniform Traffic Citation (UTC). That's legal-speak for a REAL ticket that comes with the same fines, penalties, and insurance consequences as a ticket anywhere else.

Please take care of our new plantings

As the undergrounding project moves towards completion, we have now finished landscaping around the large green transformer boxes.

Please remember it is the responsibility of the residents to water and maintain the new landscaping.

If you have a transformer box with new plants on your property, please make sure your landscaper knows to include them in regular maintenance. Since it is considered new landscaping, it falls under the watering rules for new landscaping. Specifically:

  • Regular watering days do not apply for up to 90 days after planting.
  • For the first 30 days after planting, you may water any day except Friday regardless of your address.
  • For days 31 through 90, you may water any day except Tuesday and Friday.

After 90 days, the watering returns to your normal schedule dictated by your house number.

...recycling bins are available to carry items to the recycling center

Yellow and blue bins are available to assist transporting recycling to the recycling center. Let us know if you need them.

Remember some of the recycling rules:

  • No plastic bags (they go in the trash).
  • No food boxes, such as pizza boxes or Chinese food containers.
  • Break down clean boxes before putting them in the bins.

Street light changes

There are changes coming to the street lights along Golf Road. FPL is changing out the equipment to create warmer (more yellow, and less bright white) illumination.

Palm Beach County is doing the same to the new light just installed at the new traffic signal on Golf Road. That light is the only one owned by the county. We are now working with them on installing shielding to better block the spillover from the light.

Don't forget the watering rules

Please remember watering your landscaping is only allowed at certain times.

In general:

  • No irrigation allowed between 10:00am and 4:00pm.

  • Even numbered addresses may only run their irrigation systems on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and/or Sundays.

  • Odd numbered addresses may only run their irrigation systems on Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Saturdays.

  • You will notice there is no watering allowed on Fridays.

  • All new irrigation systems are required to have sensors that prevent watering when there is already sufficient moisture.

There are exceptions to the rules for newly-planted landscaping, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, newly-applied fertilizer, and low-volume watering such as hand watering.
