Hello, Rockstar's!

October is well on it's way and I'm looking forward to leaves changing, a calmer atmosphere and hopefully some pumpkin picking! Our football teams didn't come up winners this weekend, but it sure is fun to cheer! 🏈

Glamping was a success! I booked the trip earlier this year and we were scheduled to go in June for our anniversary. With grandbaby Liam coming early, I rebooked it for the Fall. It was peace and quiet in the best way, especially time spent in a hammock and looking at the stars at night. I was flooded with childhood memories of camping, especially the smell of a campfire and making s'mores. I wasn't sure hubby would embrace it (I surprised him πŸ˜†), but nature put on a good show and we had fantastic pictures of the sunset. What really caught me off guard was an overwhelming feeling of joy and grief (both at the same time) …and somewhere where those 2 emotions meet, is when the real healing begins. Grateful for that awareness, and giving myself time to heal. πŸ¦‹

If you're raising babies (or grandbabies), or influence your nieces and nephews, remember how powerful the memories we make with them are. I'm clinging to all those memories years ago with my mom, who was at the helm of every single camping trip. πŸ’–πŸ’œ

On to the week ahead... I created the video above (:58 seconds) on snack ideas, based on so many who are out and about and travelling right now. It's sometimes hard to transition between airports and delayed flights, or even the stop at Buc-ee's. Planning is our superpower!

If this week feels overwhelming, focus on one thing that feels doable. Create a bin in your pantry or fridge with go-to foods you really like. Maybe dinners are a hot mess, but being in the drivers seat in other areas helps us keep our foot on the gas. Small wins build our confidence and keep momentum going. πŸ™Œ

Is self-doubt creeping it's way back into your journey? One or two off days (or more!) can make us feel like we're going backwards. Lean in on all the ways things have gone right, all the changes you've made, (no matter how small) and your strength in prioritizing your health and well-being. Sure, life is going to throw us off. Man, it always does. We're ready. We've got this. It's all worth it.

Life on the other side of our comfort zone is sweet, sometimes bitter, but always filled with amazing love and grace.

Keep going, and keep swimming beautiful friends.

To a life of joy and healing, πŸ™πŸ»
