"Really Bad Girls of the Bible"

Wednesdays Starting September 9 - November 4

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM in Poe Williams

Eight of the Bible’s most notorious females strut across the pages of Really Bad Girls of the Bible with troubles that still hit home in the twenty-first century.

The Medium of En Dor crossed over to the dark side. Jael stood up to a ruthless enemy. The Adulteress was caught between a rock and a hard place. Athaliah made a bid for power that ended badly. Bathsheba captured the wandering eye of a king. Herodias made a cruel request of her husband. Tamar exchanged her widow’s weeds for a harlot’s garb. And the Bleeding Woman had a serious health issue only a great physician could handle.

Lunch & Learn Sunday

Sunday, October 4 at 12 PM

Join partners of our mission team on Sunday, October 4th at 12:00 p.m. in the Genesis Hall to learn from Eric Soard about the amazing ministry being offered through Wesley College in Tanzania. Wesley College is a United Methodist initiative that recruits, trains, and empowers young men and women from remote places in Tanzania to become valuable and respected leaders in their villages by offering them otherwise, unattainable education and job skill training. Eric will share ways we can support, serve, and pray for this ministry. He can also offer information about travel mission opportunities and exploration trips. Lunch will be provided.

Fall Break Food Bags

Help feed kids in Sumner County during fall break! Pick up a food bag and packing instructions this Sunday in the Atrium welcome center and the sanctuary lobby and fill it with essential items to provide a week's worth of meals.

Please return filled bags by September 27.

If you have any questions or would like to help deliver bags, please contact Heather Rountree at hrountree84@icloud.com, 931-252-4770 or Brittany May at Brittany.May@hfumc.org, 615-389-1256.

Monthly Collection for Hendersonville Samaritan Center

The Samaritan Center assists local families in need with a food bank, funded in part by its thrift store. HFUMC has a collection bin near the church office. Each month, we’ll post the most-needed item—for September, please bring canned peas, canned beans (not green beans), and shelf milk to help support our neighbors!

Elevator Service Notice

The sanctuary elevators (all 3 floors) will be out of service for scheduled maintenance.

If you or someone you know has a golf cart that could be used to help transport congregation members and visitors from the parking lot to the front door of the sanctuary during this period, please let the church office know. Your help would be a wonderful blessing to those who need it most.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Say It With Flowers

You have an opportunity to honor, recognize, or memorialize someone with flowers in our services. For a suggested donation of $40, an arrangement will be on the altar of both services, which you can take home afterwards. A dedication for that Sunday will be listed. This is a great opportunity to share the beauty of friendships, love, and thankfulness.

Limited Sundays are available, please contact lile.rogers23@gmail.com, or Suzanne Newman in the church office to see if your special date is available

Every week, we come together to celebrate the ways in which God is moving in our lives and community through “God Sightings.” These are stories of faith, answered prayers, acts of kindness, and moments where we witness God’s love at work.

Youth Fall Retreat

Our youth had a great weekend together at Fall Retreat! They spent time in worship and fellowship, enjoyed games, and even went whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River. We’re grateful for the opportunity for our students to build friendships and grow in faith together.
