Happy 4th July!

We hope you had a wonderful long weekend.

4th July inspired fireworks embroidery by Andrew at AHRC NYC

Sweet Elephant

How cute is this elephant stuffy woven by Suzette at VISIONS!

Blooming Flowers

This month Michelle from AHRC NYC has been inspired by the flurry of summer flowers, and has started making colorful woven flowers for her garden.

Smiles in program

Long time weaver Lamija from AHRC NYC smiles as she holds up two of her most recent weavings from the cricket loom.

Material Experiments

Leroy from YAI explores new materials in his latest embroidery works. We love the way he pushed himself to try new things, and that his work always reflects his love of architecture and structure.

Braulio from VISIONS celebrates the Knicks NBA championship win with a custom embroidery piece dedicated to his favorite team.

Keona from VISIONS models her finished dress! Woven on a SAORI loom

Color Palette

We love this color palette woven on the SAORI loom by Lauren at YAI

Starry Night Sleeps

Who wouldn't love this star adorned pillow on their bed at night?! Made by Hinwah at AHRC NYC

Our Board President Ria Hawks received the Champion of Peace Award from Rotary District 7490, nominated by the Rotary Club of Englewood. Ria was honored for her creative leadership on the Club's Saori Weaving Project, led by Diane Jansen: a collaborative public art initiative celebrating over 100 years of Rotary service in Englewood. Nearly 400 participants across 21 partner nonprofits contributed to the tapestry over 20 events and three years, a powerful testament to arts that are inclusive, equitable, and accessible to all.

Congratulations, Ria!

Last but not least!

Sweet pink purse with flower crochet detail by Mary B at VISIONS, and a finished woven doll by Myrna, also at VISIONS. Great job to them both!
