Dear Ozark residents,
As summer winds down, there’s a lot to celebrate in Ozark!
On July 17, we broke ground on the Chadwick Flyer pedestrian bridge — a major step forward in connecting our community. This project is more than just concrete and steel. It’s about building safer, more walkable paths for families, students and neighbors to enjoy. It’s a new way to experience the outdoors and appreciate the beauty of our city. I’m proud of the partnerships that made this possible — from city staff to regional partners — and I look forward to seeing this bridge bring people together for generations to come.
|
And speaking of coming together, it’s almost time for our Back to School Bash! It’s a chance for families to get ready for the school year with free supplies, fun activities, and great community spirit. Whether you're a parent, student, teacher or volunteer, thank you for being part of what makes Ozark such a supportive place to live and learn.
Here’s to building connections and strong beginnings — both on the trails and in our schools.
~Mayor Don Currence

Ozark Police Chief Justin Arnold Earns Two Prestigious State Appointments
Please join us in congratulating Ozark Police Chief Justin Arnold on two significant honors recognizing his leadership in Missouri law enforcement.
Chief Arnold was appointed by Governor Mike Kehoe to serve on the Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission. In this role, Chief Arnold will help shape the standards and training requirements for peace officers across the state—an important responsibility that reflects his years of experience and dedication to public safety.
In addition to his appointment, Chief Arnold was also recently elected by his peers as the 3rd Vice President of the Missouri Police Chiefs Association (MPCA). As a member of the MPCA Executive Board, he will work alongside police chiefs from across Missouri to help guide and support law enforcement agencies statewide.
Chief Arnold brings a wealth of experience to these roles. He has served in the Ozark Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit and worked with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s Task Force investigating major drug trafficking organizations. He also teaches as an adjunct instructor at the Drury University Law Enforcement Academy and is a member of both the Southwest Missouri and Missouri Police Chiefs Associations.
Chief Arnold earned his Missouri Peace Officer license in 2005. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement Leadership from Drury University and a Master of Arts from Lincoln University.
The City of Ozark is proud to have such a committed and accomplished leader serving our community. Congratulations, Chief Arnold!
