The Colorado Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind has a high-level advisory commission of seven Governor-appointed experts in multiple disciplines related to deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind individuals. CDHHDB staff runs various programs as specified in statute, to promote equal access and effective communication.

All positions with the commission are remote or hybrid eligible. Most positions are open to Colorado Residents only, please review job postings for details and instructions.

REMINDER - Auxiliary Services Coordinator

This position closes Monday, August 22, 2022

This position works closely with the commission's Auxiliary Services unit, especially the Auxiliary Services Manager. Open to Colorado Residents only.


The position provides support for program activities including:

  • Administrative.
  • Fiscal.
  • Logistical.


This position also schedules auxiliary services providers for 

  • Legal Auxiliary Services.
  • Rural Auxiliary Services.
  • Internal auxiliary services (CCDHHDB staff).
Auxiliary Services Coordinator - Job Posting & Application

NEW - Outreach Consultant - DeafBlind Specialty

NOTE: This position is open to out-of-state applicants

This position works closely with the commission's Outreach and Consultative Services unit, primarily focused on the DeafBlind communities. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge related to deafblind access.
  • Outreach experience in regards to deafblind topics and access issues.
  • Experience advising on policies and procedures.
  • Experience with ADA policies and procedures.
  • Public and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language.
Outreach Consultant - Job Posting & Application

NEW - Lead ASL/English Interpreter

This position works closely with the commission's Auxiliary Services unit, especially the Auxiliary Services Coordinator and Certified Deaf Interpreter. Open to Colorado Residents only.


Special Qualifications:

  • Must hold current legal interpreter certificate (SC:L or BEI Court Interpreter), have Colorado Status I or II Court/Legal Interpreter designation, or be willing to attain Status I or II designation if hired.
  • At least five years of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience interpreting for DHHDB individuals is preferred.
  • At least three years of legal/courtroom interpreting experience.
  • At least three years of experience in teaching and mentoring related to sign language interpreting.
  • Experience in deaf/hearing teams is required and detailed knowledge of interpreting in legal/courtroom settings is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written communications.
Lead Interpreter - Job Posting & Application

NEW - Certified Deaf Interpreter

This position works closely with the commission's Auxiliary Services unit, especially the Auxiliary Services Coordinator and Lead ASL/English Interpreter. Note: A CDI/Certified Deaf Interpreter is an interpreter that is deaf or hard of hearing. Open to Colorado Residents only.


Special qualifications:

  • At least one year of full-time or equivalent part-time professional experience as an interpreter.
  • Hold current Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Board of Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) certification or be willing to attain such certification in a timely fashion as determined by CCDHHDB.
  • Must be a Status I or II Colorado Court/Legal Interpreter or be willing to attain such designation in a timely fashion as determined by CCDHHDB.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written communications.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the state.
