2025 Reflections: Milestones and Quiet Moments

This momentous year for Developmental FX has included Tracy Stackhouse’s transitioning to the role of Director of Innovation and Beth Yohe joining us as CEO, welcoming new team members, and expanding fully into our second building on the Clayton campus. These changes mark growth, momentum, and a deepening commitment to our mission and are worth celebrating!

As meaningful as these big moments are, what truly defines us at DFX are everyday moments of connection. This year, we are reflecting on those moments that remind us why connection sits at the heart of everything we do.

One team member reflected on the continued development of our “Consultation That Fits” program. What stood out for her in contributing to this program was the magical collaboration among team members that unfolded across disciplines and roles. It was a reminder of the power of coming together with shared purpose.

Another team member highlighted the development of equitable language access for our services, a proposal that helped us secure grant funding for translation and interpretation. This ensures that families can engage with DFX in ways that honor their language, culture, and voice, because access is foundational to belonging.

Connection also extended beyond our walls through community education and outreach. Our clinicians who presented on sensory integration and regulation to a local early childhood education school in Denver sparked meaningful dialogue and positive feedback from parents, teachers, and staff.

Connections were fostered far beyond Denver this year through our Learning Journeys Program.
The heart of DFX reached clinicians and communities around the world through courses offered in London, Copenhagen, Poland, Australia, and Bali, along with our online offerings, collaborations with the Polyvagal Institute, ICDL, and Unyte, as well as through the Spirited Conversations podcast. Each space became another place where shared language, curiosity, and belonging could take root.

And sometimes, connection arrives in a single sentence. One staff member shared the impact of hearing a parent reflect on how much DFX services would have helped their child when they were younger. That moment held both affirmation and urgency—affirmation that what we do matters deeply, and urgency to continue reaching families as early and as effectively as possible.

These are the moments that define our DFX culture and engage us as a team.

As we look ahead, may we continue to celebrate the big milestones while staying rooted in the small moments that make this work meaningful.

Thank you for being part of a year shaped by the beauty of change and connection.

Remembering John Wasserman

We are sad to share that a long-time adviser and former board member of DFX, John Wasserman, passed away on December 13.

John applied his visionary leadership skills and legal expertise to help community organizations he believed in, including DFX, Urban Peak, Kent Denver, Stanley British Primary School, Camp Nebagamon, and B'nai Havurah. His quiet leadership always encouraged each of us to show up as the very best versions of ourselves and we will miss him greatly.

John and his wife Esther Starrels had many happy years together and loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. John attended Colorado College and studied law at St. Louis University. He moved to Denver in 1979 and practiced law at Sender Wasserman Wadsworth for 40 years before retiring. He is survived by Esther, two adult children, and two grandchildren. He touched the lives of many who will remember him for his intergrity, sense of humor, and generosity.
