For companies that do not have Appendix D, but sell "specialty" equipment under the 1%, they must list the equipment as an F1 REC category.
F1 - Collectible or Specialty Equipment (Core Requirement 6.(e)(3)(A))
- Collectibles are rare, vintage, and no longer manufactured or supported by the OEM
- Specialty equipment are rare and specialized equipment not generally available in retail
- May have broken or missing parts
If the company conducts minor testing, it should be included in the product description.
If the company has Appendix D and the competency to test the devices, they can list the functionality grade (F3, F4, etc.).
If the company has Appendix D and does not have the competency to test the equipment, then they must get the verification from the previous company (Appendix D (2) (b)), and the equipment must be listed as an F2.
