EXECUTION PHASE

Community Recreation Center – Restoration Project

Construction at the CRC continues to make progress, with several recent updates completed. As of February 13, 2026, tile installation in the Vending Area Lobby and new carpeting in the East Hallway, Room 115 and the connecting area from the main foyer to Room 115 are finished, bringing a refreshed, cohesive look and improved comfort to the facility. From February 10–13, the East Hallway was temporarily closed for carpeting work, and the front desk is currently operating from the Vending Area Lobby while the new desk is being built.

GYMNASTICS TEAM - The District’s gymnastics competitive team traveled to Orlando, Florida for a national competition from January 23–25, where several teams placed at the top: Level 4 earned 2nd place, Xcel Golds placed 2nd, and Xcel Silvers placed 3rd. The team competed against athletes from across the United States, demonstrating strong skill development and continued growth in the gymnastics program.

GILLSON PARK & LANGDON SHORELINE - Gewalt Hamilton has completed the As-Builts for Gillson Park and will submit them to the Village, while also working to close out the MWRD permit, including submission of the Plat of Easements. Langdon Shoreline Protection is in its final stages with the engineering firm completing closeout documents and permitting.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER - The ECC successfully passed its DCFS relicensing inspection, reaffirming the program’s compliance with state regulations and commitment to maintaining high standards of care. This important milestone ensures continued quality, safety and confidence for families in the District’s early childhood programming.
