Full Court Press (Case Study)

Full Court Press documents the negotiations and advocacy process to secure the release of women’s basketball star Brittney Griner from Russian prison in 2022. Griner was detained in Moscow in February 2022, convicted of drug smuggling, and sentenced to nine years in prison.

The case provides a rich opportunity to discuss how negotiations involving the potential trading of humans are similar to “regular” negotiations.

ASpace

This team-based exercise is designed to reflect the complexities of remote collaboration, asymmetric information, and cross-cultural considerations. It centers on two international teams tasked with jointly constructing a thermal regulator for the first passenger spacecraft to the moon.

The exercise highlights the challenges that arise in real-world collaborative environments and is effective for exploring team dynamics, remote communication strategies, misaligned assumptions and the effects of time and budgetary pressure on decision-making processes.
