Catholic Schools always....REACHING HIGHER
From the Superintendent...
Greetings!

“They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers” (Acts 2:42).

One of my favorite things about the Easter season is reading from the Acts of the Apostles, and this verse from yesterday’s readings highlights this interest. I appreciate seeing how the first disciples responded in those early days, and I admire the simplicity in the focus: teach, relate, share, pray.

I think to our tasks in the Catholic school. We can easily lose sight of our focus in the day-to-day. Even the four domains of the NSBECS can, at times, distract us from the nine defining characteristics of Catholic schools that set the foundation for the rest of the document.

In this Easter season, we can ground ourselves in these practices of the earliest disciples, devoted to teaching, forming community, breaking bread together, and, above all, prayer, all centered in the person of Jesus Christ.

With gratitude,
NICHOLAS FORD | Superintendent

Timely Review and Approval of Substitute Time Sheets
Substitutes are paid on a semi-monthly basis (from the 1rst to the 15th is paid on the 25th and the 16th through the end of the month is paid on the 10th of the following month). Please make sure that your Primary Payroll Processor reviews and approves the time sheets for days Substitutes work at your school by the first day after the end of these Pay Periods (the 16th and the 1rst). Any time input into Paycom time sheets will be paid even if not approved, but it is important that charges to your School are correct and appropriate. Please help us address this.
2023/2024 Operating Budgets
We are in that time of year when our individual Annual School Operating Budgets are at very different stages of completion. Some Schools are complete and some have much left to complete. Once you have completed your 2023/2024 Operating Budget, we would ask that you send it to John Sullivan with answers to four questions: (1) One broad, single percentage change of Tuition. (2) One broad single percentage change of Salaries. (3) How do your planned 2023/2024 Salaries compare to your local School District - also one percentage. (4) Do you plan to do a Multi-year Operating Budget? So far we have one such response. Thank you.
New Approach to Update Sub Pool Billing Rate for your School
Each School has its own pay rate for those who work for them through the Substitute Pool. Principals set this rate. In the past we have asked that you send requests for changing these rates through the folks in the Payroll Services Office. Going forward we are asking that you send requests for such changes to our new teammate at OCS, Synthiea Kaldi. Synthiea will monitor the process of getting these rates changed. We hope this transition will insure your requests are accomplished timely and we can effectively address the status of such changes.
Resumes on the Principal Trello Board
