Dear Friends and Colleagues,
This past year has been challenging for all of us. The devastation of COVID-19, coupled with the ongoing political and cultural conflicts in the U.S. and around the world, has escalated the demand for Kokolulu's work.
|
|
We are writing today to ask for your support on Giving Tuesday.Your financial contribution is so important to us as we do everything in our power to bring our work (now available online) to people all over the world, including those who are without financial resources, and have an urgent need for our program of population-wide healing. |
|
This ongoing emergency demands trauma-healing programs of self-care and group support, of self-awareness and mutual understanding. Our programs can be learned by all of us and seamlessly integrated into daily life, now and after the pandemic subsides. Please join us for healing qigong sessions Monday - Friday on Zoom - see details below.
There is so much more to do, and we need your help to do it. Each of us is being called on now to become more resilient, compassionate and whole, to heal ourselves, one another, our communities and the world. Join us in building a movement for global healing.
Aloha Blessings and Hope

Feed Your Gut for Optimal Immunity |

If you liked my video, please give it a thumbs up! Mahalo!
Karin Cooke, Co-Founder of Kokolulu, with over 40 years experience as an RN & Nutritionist
WHY FERMENT VEGGIES? ... During fermentation, live bacteria break down food components like sugar, making it easier for you to digest and absorb nutrients.
Fermentation can boost the nutritional value of food. It can produce a variety of B vitamins in foods that weren’t there before being fermented.
Fermented foods produce many active compounds that are essential to optimal health and allows for nutrients to be better absorbed and used by the body.
Fermented foods (ie kraut) are rich in probiotic (beneficial) bacteria so by consuming fermented foods you are adding beneficial bacteria and enzymes, increasing the health of your gut microbiome, digestive system and enhancing your immune system. 70% of immune cells are housed in our gut! If the good bugs in the gut outnumber the bad bugs, you’re less likely to develop many negative health conditions.

Standing Meditation 3 Centers Merge/Tonification Qigong:
Demonstrated from Kokolulu's temple in Hawi on the island of Hawaii (see link at the bottom of this message )
At Kokolulu we do 3 Centers Merge/Tonification qigong every day for two weeks for at least 30 minutes a day, then alternate with Liver Cleanse Qigong for two weeks (see separate video); then back to 3 centers merge for two weeks and repeat as needed. We also do 3 Centers Merge as a standing meditation by itself.
In this quiet state of standing meditation, the Qi will flow following its natural path.
The function of “Three Centers Merge” is to direct Qi harvested by LQUPQD into the inside of the body, internal organs, cells, etc. The “Three Centers Merge” is also an effective way to loosen the lower back and the entire spine. “Three Centers Merge” is the fundamental skill throughout the whole Zhineng Qigong path.
It helps in regulating qi throughout the body. It is important for relaxing the waist. It is a static form compared to the other Zhineng Qigong forms which are dynamic forms.
"Tonification is a therapeutic treatment that nourishes and replenishes the qi, blood, yin and yang of the human body when they are deficient or weak. It is applicable to one or several of the organs, or one of the qi, blood, yin and yang, or the weakness of all of them as a whole" courtesy of http://www.shen-nong.com
We practice 3 Centers Merge/Tonification streaming live via Zoom Mon.- Friday - see details below

Current hand - painted labyrinth at Kokolulu |
|
Labyrinth – Ancient path for modern footsteps
The labyrinth, defined as a single circuitous path that leads to a center (rather than a Maze in which one can become lost) has served humankind for thousands of years.
Labyrinths can be found and have been used in religious, secular, private and public settings. Within the last 30 years there has been a resurgence of interest in this physical tool for thoughtful and joyous contemplation.
We now wish to turn our hand drawn labyrinth into a more permanent form. We hope you will contribute to this effort. We have raised $10,190 of our goal: $12,690 (all we need is $2500 more - can you put us over the top please?) to create a permanent labyrinth set auspiciously within the landscape of our Retreat Center in Hawi, Hawaii. This labyrinth will be open to the community. Can You Help Please? Mahalo! ***Your donation is tax deductible.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (MHBOT) available at Kokolulu |
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment in which a patient breathes a higher percentage of oxygen while the pressure of the treatment chamber is increased to greater than atmospheric pressure (one atmosphere absolute / one ATA).
Kokolulu Farm and Retreats offers the comfort of a soft-sided MHBOT, though users breathe concentrated oxygen through a mask or nasal cannula while in the chamber, reportedly a large improvement over using only ambient (room) air.
