To all AltaMed employees:
As you have already heard, Governor Gavin Newsom has reopened the State of California with few restrictions starting tomorrow, June 15. The Governor announced and signed on Friday several Executive Orders to highlight this change. Additionally, there is an updated State Public Health Order. Most notably:
The Stay-at-Home Order has been terminated; physical distancing, capacity limits, and the county tier system are ending on June 15. However, masks are still required regardless of vaccination status in health care settings (including long-term care facilities). For those not vaccinated, you are still required to wear PPE until further notice. Other settings still requiring masks include:
- On public transit (examples: airplanes, ships, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, and ride-shares) and in transportation hubs (examples: airport, bus terminal, marina, train station, seaport or other port, subway station, etc.).
- Indoors in K-12 schools, childcare and other youth settings. Note: This may change as updated K-12 schools guidance is forthcoming, pending updates for K-12 operational guidance from the CDC.
- State and local correctional facilities and detention centers.
- Homeless shelters, emergency shelters, and cooling centers.
For business settings where masks are required only for unvaccinated individuals, businesses, venue operators, or hosts may choose to:
- Provide information to all patrons, guests, and attendees regarding vaccination requirements and allow vaccinated individuals to self-attest to comply before entry.
- Implement vaccine verification to determine whether individuals are required to wear a mask.
- Require all patrons to wear masks. No person can be prevented from wearing a mask as a condition of participation in an activity or entry into a business.
-
Below is guidance from the CA Health and Human Services Department: Mega Events [large crowds greater than 5,000 (indoors) and 10,000 (outdoors) attendees] Face Coverings.
We will inform you as updates are received. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Verónica Gómez
