Empowering Pro-Life Students on Campus

College campuses can be challenging environments for pro-life activists.

Pro-life students routinely experience censorship, discrimination, and social isolation. Many fear being labeled hateful or misogynistic by their peers. This environment makes many students feel the need to self-censor or hide their views.

In some cases, school administrators and professors fail to intervene—or, more troublingly, contribute to the hostility themselves. In class, students may feel they cannot reasonably challenge pro-abortion arguments without fear of academic or professional consequences.

In a 2025 survey, nearly 1 in 5 students said they felt unable to express an opinion because of how students, professors, or administrators might respond.

In recent years, hundreds of free-speech violations and harassment incidents against pro-life student groups have been documented, including cases of vandalism, destruction of property, threats of violence, physical assault, smear campaigns, and online bullying.

Perhaps the most high-profile and tragic example of political speech being silenced came in 2025 with the assassination of conservative activist (and dedicated supporter of the pro-life cause), Charlie Kirk.

But it remains critical that pro-life voices are heard on college campuses. Pro-life viewpoints need to be represented. Pro-abortion propaganda must not go unchallenged.

Each year, about one-third of abortions in the United States are performed on women between the ages 20-24, according to the CDC. And far too often, college women face tremendous pressure to have abortions.

Instead of empowering pregnant and parenting students to pursue their dreams, our society too often places women in a position where they feel forced to choose between their children and their own futures.

We'll dive into these issues and more during a free webinar on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 7:00 PM with guest speaker, Liz Mooney.

This virtual event is part of a monthly educational webinar series offered by Maryland Right to Life. The webinar is free to attend and will last approximately one hour.
