The esteemed three-member team from WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) was on campus this week to complete The Winston School’s six-year accreditation review. This three-day on-site review was the culmination of our self-study completed over the past year reflecting on the entire Winston program and progress over the past six years. The School’s WASC accreditation process is crucial as it ensures that our institution meets the high standards of a college preparatory program.
Kelsey and I want to thank and congratulate our entire Winston community – staff, students, parents and Board of Directors – for their thoughtful, hard work during the process and the resulting accolades received from the WASC team. The WASC team found our program to be one of caring, talented professionals working with an incredible community of students and families. They called out our program’s many powerful strengths and validated our areas of targeted growth going forward. The review was rigorous and a valuable opportunity to work with special education experts who held up a mirror so we may better see ourselves.
We couldn’t be where we are today without each and every one of you. From a completely revitalized campus in our future to building and expanding our educational program, Winston’s future is bright. We are so grateful that you are a part of this gratifying journey.
We will use this space in the Friday Communication to share the final report, highlight the results and dig deeper into the study findings.
“The Visiting Committee commends The Winston School for its commitment to student success and continuous improvement. ….The Visiting Committee thanks The Winston School for its openness, collaboration, and dedication to educational excellence.”
With deep gratitude,
Kim Kanetis, Executive Director & Kelsey Garrison, Principal
