Holiday Concert Service
Rev Ed Thompson and The Special Projects Choir
December 10 2023

After more than forty-six years of devoted and inspiring musical leadership, our beloved Minister of Music, the Rev. Dr. Edward Thompson. is retiring in a few short weeks.  There are two more special events with Rev. Ed that you won’t want to miss. The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is sure to be as magical as ever and Sunday, December 29 will be our last service with Rev. Ed. We will celebrate all that he has meant to our congregation with stories and songs of gratitude.

As we come to the end of this remarkable ministry, there are two additional ways that each of us can appreciate Ed in a personal way.

A Parting Gift is being collected and we encourage everyone who has been touched by Rev. Ed’s ministry to contribute generously.  Checks should be made payable to Edward Thompson and mailed to our business manager, Sue O’Meara at UU Westport.  These contributions are a gift to Rev. Ed and are, therefore, not tax deductible.  The funds will be collected into an account that will be presented to Ed at a service in late January when we will honor him.  Please send your contribution by January 15.  We will give Rev. Ed a list of contributors, but not the individual amounts unless you would like him to know the amount of your gift.

Letters, notes, photos, and other mementos are being collected into a Memory Book that will be artfully arranged by Jan Braunle.  Please send your personal contributions for the memory book to Ruth Fontilla in the church office by January 15 or to celebrating.ed.thompson@gmail.com.  The book will also be presented to Ed in the special service on January 26.
