Valley Children’s and Table Mountain Rancheria recently celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Table Mountain Rancheria Play Experience, an inclusive outdoor space designed to bring healing, connection and joy to children of all abilities.

Made possible through an $8 million gift from Table Mountain Rancheria, the play experience will feature adaptive swings, accessible climbing structures, elevated walkways and other inclusive elements that allow children of varying abilities to play together.

“This new play experience is truly an investment in every child and family who comes to Valley Children’s,” said William Chaltraw, Jr., president and chief administrative officer of Valley Children’s Hospital. “It reflects our shared belief that play is an essential part of each child’s journey, regardless of their circumstances or abilities.”

Inspired in part by Tribal Chairperson Michelle Heredia-Cordova’s family connection to Valley Children’s, the project reflects a shared commitment to supporting children beyond medical care through the power of play. Construction is expected to be completed in mid-2027.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors, volunteers, listeners and the courageous patients and families who shared their stories, the 28th Annual KISS Country for Kids Radiothon raised more than $104,300 to support Valley Children’s Hospital.

The event united communities across the region around a shared mission: bringing hope and healing to local children and families. From inspiring patient stories to heartfelt acts of generosity, the Radiothon showcased the compassion and commitment of our community.

We extend our sincere gratitude to KISS Country for its longstanding partnership and dedication to Valley Children’s. By providing a platform for families to share their experiences and helping amplify the need for pediatric care, KISS Country played a vital role in raising both awareness and support.

Every dollar raised will help provide life-saving care, essential programs and critical resources for the children and families who depend on Valley Children’s. We are deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s Radiothon.

Together, we are making a difference, one story, one donation and one child at a time.

An $85,000 grant from the charitable arm of a popular restaurant chain will help childhood cancer survivors thrive long after their final hospital visit.

This week, Valley Children’s Healthcare announced it was awarded an $85,000 Community Grant from the Taco Bell Foundation to support The Fresno Truck Center Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program.

The funding will help expand educational and wellness resources for pediatric cancer survivors across Central California, providing support after their treatment ends.

Founded in 2009, The Fresno Truck Center Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program is the only one of its kind in the region. It provides long-term, comprehensive follow-up care to more than 1,800 childhood cancer survivors. The program’s holistic approach includes personalized health education through treatment summaries and screenings, mental health and wellness resources, peer-led learning opportunities and scholarships for survivors pursuing higher education. Earlier this year, more than 100 childhood cancer survivors received scholarships through the program.
