Tree Maintenance
This week, crews will begin removing three diseased English Elm Trees located on Miller Avenue, Fifth Street, and Sixth Street. This work will be followed by pruning and inspection of the remaining trees in these areas.

This work is being completed upon assessment and recommendation by the City's licensed tree arborist from West Coast Arborist.

The Tree Assessment Report states that due to the Dutch Elm Disease present at these three locations, it is recommended that these three trees be removed to stop the spread of the disease and protect the community's safety. It is also recommended that the remaining trees in these locations be pruned and inspected further to monitor for Dutch Elm Disease. Unfortunately, these beautiful trees are near the end of their healthy life spans, so we will continue to evaluate as needed.
