Mistletoe Madness in Rockport & Manchester-by-the-Sea
Mistletoe Madness starts this Friday, November 22 in Rockport and Manchester-by-the-Sea. This is a pilot program during the 2024 Holiday Season to help keep shopping dollars local. Retailers, restaurants, inns, theaters, recreational activities, and business services may participate in the program. It is not too late for Rockport and MBTS businesses to join in the "Madness!" Sign Up Now for Winter Lights
Celebrate the holiday spirit with the 5th Annual Winter Lights on Cape Ann!
It’s that time again where we are collaborating with Discover Gloucester on Winter Lights. As it was last year, we are asking businesses across greater Cape Ann to sign up to be listed on the map and if they choose, join the contest. There is no fee to participate and the contest is open to all.

Congratulations to Meat & Sweet Foods for their Top 10 in BBQ Finish at the World Food Championships
Doug Keiles & Laurie Lufkin returned with a Top 10 Finish from the World Food Championship (WFC) at the Indiana State Fairgrounds where they competed against 36 teams in the BBQ category. The WFC is the premier food sport competition globally. This multi-day, live culinary event showcases some of the world's best cooks competing for food, fame, and fortune across twelve categories. Doug and Laurie had a great journey and plan to go back next year even more prepared to win!

Gloucester Racial Justice Team Survey
The Gloucester Racial Justice Team is conducting a survey of Gloucester residents regarding their experience of racism and/or welcome in the city. The results will be presented at the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation’s commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Jan 20, 2025. Ipswich Veterans Hope to Pave Way to Memorial
(From Ipswich Local News) Here’s a trivia question: How many bricks would it take to pave the walkway from the curb to the Veterans Memorial on South Main Street? According to the man leading the project to pave it, 2,200 bricks are needed.
“The walkway that you see in front of you, it has been this way for many years,” VFW Commander Larry Jordan told a group on Veterans Day.
Now, the various veterans organizations around town have joined forces to pave the way (literally) to the memorial. They will do that by raising funds to honor ex-service members with etched bricks. Read Full Article

Cape Ann Kids Holiday Fund.
Applications Open: Deadline December 1
The Cape Ann Kids Holiday Fund is a collaboration between Action Inc., Pathways for Children, and Wellspring House that focuses on helping to ease the financial burden of the holidays for families living on Cape Ann.
To be eligible, families must currently live in
Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, or Ipswich. Children must be 0-18 years of age, with December 31, 2006 as the cutoff birth date. Eligible children ages 9 and under will receive toys, and ages 10 – 18 will receive a gift card. Learn More

Gloucester Ladies Night Convention
The American Legion is looking for GLOUCESTER businesses to reserve a table at the American Legion Post 3, Washington Street, on Ladies Night, Thursday, December 5.
Some Gloucester businesses cannot participate in Ladies Night because they are further away from the downtown events. This is your chance to get in on the fun by reserving a table in the American Legion hall! This event is free for the public and is family-friendly.
