Thank you to Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers for proclaiming May to be Lupus Awareness Month in Wisconsin, and to Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson, who proclaimed Friday, May 10 to be Put On Purple Day in Milwaukee!
To celebrate, make sure you wear purple on Friday, May 10, and tell people why. That day is also World Lupus Day, so by raising awareness of lupus, you're part of a worldwide movement to increase lupus visibility.

Winners of the Chance for a Cure cash raffle will be drawn today at the LFA, WI Chapter office.
Winners will be notified by phone following the drawing. Thank you to everyone who bought and sold tickets for this important annual fundraiser. The money raised through raffle ticket sales allows us to continue to provide resources and support services to lupus warriors throughout Wisconsin. We couldn't do it without your efforts!

The Walk to End Lupus Now - Milwaukee will take place on
Saturday, May 11 at Hoyt Park in Wauwatosa
Join us for a morning of celebration, raising lupus awareness, and showing our power against lupus.
Register as a Team Captain, team member, individual walker, or show your support with a donation.
We are still looking for volunteers along the walk route. If you are available to volunteer or know any individuals or groups who could volunteer for a couple hours during the walk, please email Dawn at dawn@lupuswi.org.
Route monitors are stationed along the walk route to keep participants on the correct path. This position can be done by anyone - there is no lifting required, you can be seated if you have limited mobility, and it's great for people of all ages: last year we had a fantastic Girl Scout troop cheering people on.

|
Team Captains with 4 or more pre-registered team members receive a team sign on walk day.
These signs can be decorated at the Decoration Station tent, and are a great way to celebrate your team in photos and along the route.

It is because of our volunteers that our mission is possible. We appreciate every one of you who have leant their time and talents to improve the lives of all people affected by lupus.
