Because Lutherans love their neighbor : "How are you doing right now?" It's a pretty simple question, but also a powerful one. One of the cool things about regular check-ins with family, friends, and neighbors is that it allows us to see that that we all experience the same things: joy, frustration, overwhelm, excitement, sadness, anticipation, loss, reemergence. Pick up the phone. Wave across the fence. Let someone know you care. We are in this together. We are better together. We may be apart, but we are not alone.

Easter 3
The Road to Emmaus

Each week Sunday school curriculum developer (and former summer camp Arts and Crafts director) Dr. Dawn Rundman and her family will host Family Sunday School.

Each episode presents a lesson based on Lectionary readings that families can watch together. The Bible story, illustrations, and other content are based on Spark: Activate Faith Lectionary Sunday school lessons.
A big THANK YOU to the masked Property Stewards for tidying the Day School landscaping! You are appreciated!
Howdy Walter and Beverly!
Have you been wondering what folk are up to these days? We were, too! In conversation about something else, the Seidenschwarz' kindly gave us a run down of their activities:

  • Meals on Wheels each Monday to families in need (Action shot pictured here!)
  • Watching the church videos
  • Doing puzzles, jigsaw and crossword
  • ZOOM visits with family
  • New recipes
  • Viewing God's creation from our patio
  • Bike rides
We want to know what you are doing, too! Please drop Sherry a line at sherry.hardwick@emanuels-seguin.org . You are missed! This is a great way to be neighborly and check in with each other.
The Day School had an Egg Hunt on April 9th! Sorry we forgot to share in a timely fashion. Joy still abounds!

We are now offering child care for elementary school age children of essential workers in our church building Monday - Friday. Please contact the Day School at (830) 372-0332 or dayschool@emanuels-seguin.org for more information.
In response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the Emanuel's Lutheran Church office staff is working from home until further notice.

Well, that's sort of true. New this week:
  • Pauline is polishing woodwork in the sanctuary and prepping the floors to be waxed.
  • Pastor Marcus is impressing us all with his amped up Zoom game.
  • The Property Stewards are keeping the lawn maintained and gutters cleaned.
  • Denise is working closely with Susan Yeatts on the church finances.
  • Donna is on the phone practically all day checking in on people.
  • Sherry is looking for content to share. Got a lead? Throw her a line!

Everyone is still accessible via email and telephone. You may continue to call us at 830-379-5046. Messages are checked daily.

We continue to hold each of you and your families in our prayers. We are BETTER TOGETHER… even if it is virtually!

The health of our church family, and of the public, is important to the Council and Staff of Emanuel' Lutheran Church. The following provisions are now in place:

  • Worship services on campus are suspended indefinitely.  This includes all campus activities. Staff and Council continue to monitor City/State sanctions and Synod recommendations.
  • Office Staff is working from home and participating in remote online staff meetings.
  • Nursing home visits are suspended.
  • Hospital visitation is limited.
  • Council Members will contact Emanuel's members as information needs to be shared.

Things we CAN do at this time:
  • Worship with us online!
  • Follow us on Facebook and join our Daily Devotional page.
  • Let the office know if you or a loved one is in the hospital. We are checking emails and voicemails frequently.
  • Practice good Stewardship. Continue your financial support for the ongoing ministries of ELC by giving online or mailing contributions to the church.
  • Keep in touch with your Pew Pals. Need a virtual Pew Pal? Call the church office and we will pair you up.
