A Fond Farewell to Cachelle

This week, we are saying “see you soon” to Cachelle Nordby, who has worked at the Chamber for the past three years and is heading off to new adventures around the globe. Under Cachelle’s leadership as Business & Visitor Centre Manager, we modernized key programming and strengthened how we serve both visitors and local businesses. She led the streamlining of our retail area to better showcase local artists, improve apparel selection, and enhance accessibility and visibility for visitors.

Cachelle also implemented the expansion of our roaming program at the Farmers’ Market, supported by our new branded Destination BC tent and uniforms, a program that helped our visitor statistics return to pre-pandemic levels. Her ability to execute projects with accountability and passion is one of the many reasons she was quickly promoted into a management role.

On behalf of our staff and Board, thank you, Cachelle, for your dedication over the past three years.

HIGHWAY 1 CLOSURES

The Chamber has been advocating throughout the Winter 2025-2026 season to the Ministry of Transportation to allow all commercial vehicles to access Revelstoke during Rogers Pass road closures. Our CEO, Caroline Lachapelle, was recently interviewed on CBC Daybreak and by the Revelstoke Mountaineer.

The Chamber will be reaching out to our membership in mid-April to gather information on how the road closure has affected all sectors of business and providing the ministry and our MLA with this important feedback prior to meeting with the Ministry to discuss long-term solutions.

ARENA SURVEY & COMMERCIAL TAX IMPLICATIONS
The City of Revelstoke is seeking the publics opinion on a proposed replacement facility for the Revelstoke Forum Arena. The tax implications that would come from a project like this will have high impacts on businesses. With the survey closing on March 31, 2026, we urge you to fill this out with your feedback.

CHILD CARE NEEDS ASSESSMENT

Access to Childcare was a recurring pain point that appeared in last years Business Retention & Expansion survey. To address this challenge, Revelstoke Chamber has partnered with Ray of Sunshine Day Care and Appenzell Construction to launch a Needs Assessment to capture the experiences, challenges, and priorities of parents and guardians in Revelstoke. Read more and complete the survey here.

Please share this survey with anyone you know that has experiences to share -the more responses the better.

EXPERIENCE GUIDE ADVERTISING

The Advertising Menu for the 2026/27 Visitor Experience Guide is now live. We are reaching out to all current advertisers to confirm renewals, and this is also an ideal time for businesses that are not yet in the guide to get in touch about securing a placement.

The guide is distributed widely and is an effective way to put your business in front of visitors before they even arrive in Revelstoke. Experience Guide ads can also be combined with our BVIC and Roaming Van marketing opportunities to increase your visibility on the ground throughout the community.

Deadline for renewals is May 15, 2026, and May 31, 2026 for new purchases.
