Colonial Hills: Donation Drive

We are partnering with Colonial Hills Elementary School to support their C3 Program.

This outreach program for underprivileged children attending Colonial Hills Elementary is collecting sports equipment to encourage them to get outside and play this summer!

Requested items include soccer balls, footballs, basketballs, and jump ropes. An Amazon wish list is available. If you choose to order through Amazon, you may ship directly to the church!

Just send it to: Worthington Christian Church, Attn: Alison Morrow, 8145 N. High St, Columbus, OH 43235.

Donations may be dropped off in the blue bin in the Atrium this Sunday.

NOTE: Donations are due by Sunday, July 6.

Young Adult Cookout

Join us for an evening of food, games, and a good old-fashioned campfire on Sunday, July 6, at 7:00 PM in the WCC Backyard!

This event is FREE, and anyone from post-high school through their early 30s is invited to attend. Be sure to bring a friend and something to sit on (camp chair, blanket, etc.).

Food and drinks will be provided!

NOTE: Childcare is not available.

Vacation Bible School starts next week!

Vacation Bible School begins next Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11, from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.

It's not too late to register! Please visit the VBS website to learn more, or click the button below to register today!

Photographers Needed

If you've been looking for a way to serve the church and enjoy taking photos/video, we have a service opportunity for you!

Photographers are needed to help capture upcoming events, such as Vacation Bible School, 50th Anniversary Celebration, Habitat Build, Fall Fest, Thanksgiving Meal, Kids' Christmas Program, and Hunger Bowl (among others).

As a volunteer photographer, your goal is to capture the event's highlights, not the entire event. You may be asked to cover an hour of a specific event with an emphasis on a particular area (e.g., the Opening or Closing Ceremony for VBS, volunteers framing walls for the Habitat Build, etc.).

The photos (or videos) you take may be used on the WCC website, social media pages, and/or in various promotional materials. High-quality (full-resolution) photos are preferred as they may be used in print.

Interested? Please contact Kristie McGlaughlin for more information.

Women's Ministry: A Bend in the Road

Sometimes life is a challenge. The straight path you had thought you would be traveling now presents an unexpected bend in the road.

Have you been there? A job loss, a death, a fragile marriage, or an unexpected diagnosis are just a few of the bends in the road of life we encounter. At times, we may feel we will break from the weight of our exhaustion and grief, but even in the darkest of times, there is hope.

Join us on Saturday, August 2, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM for ’A Bend in the Road’ in the Youth Center with special guest speaker, Pat Krebs.

Pat Krebs has spent decades ministering to others as a hospital chaplain and clinical therapist. Recently, she was presented with her own bend in the road and will share practical wisdom found in scripture and tools that will help you or someone you know travel your path with faith and without fear.

A light breakfast will be provided, including coffee, juice, and pastries. If you need the Gluten-free option, please email Alison Morrow. This event is FREE. Childcare is not available.

New Beginnings: Widow's Ministry

New Beginnings is a gathering for women who have lost their spouse (whether recently or long ago). We gather together for fellowship, devotional reflections, and an activity.

Our next gathering is Monday, July 14 at 11:00 AM in rm. 137. Bring a sack lunch -- dessert will be provided!

Future gatherings will be the first Monday of the month. Questions? Please contact Alison Morrow.

BibleWalk Museum Tour

The Women’s Ministry invites you to join us for a day trip to the BibleWalk Museum in Mansfield, OH, on Thursday, September 11, from 8:45 AM to 4:15 PM. This museum is truly a local treasure and a labor of love for God’s Word, and we look forward to exploring it with you!

We will travel by chartered bus to The BibleWalk Museum. SEATING IS LIMITED—don’t wait to register! The bus can comfortably seat only 56 ladies.

The cost is $25/person with a box lunch or $20/person who chooses to opt out of a box lunch.

Blood Drive: August 25

Our next Blood Drive is Monday, August 25, from Noon to 6:00 PM in the Youth Center.

If you are eligible to donate, please make an appointment today! Your donation of a single pint of blood has the potential to save up to THREE lives.

Worthington Resource Pantry

We have partnered with the Worthington Resource Pantry since 2020 by collecting non-perishable food donations, toiletries, and various supplies as needed. If you can donate, please check the list below for current pantry needs:

  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Chicken or Tuna
  • Cereal
  • Rice (in 1lb. bags)
  • Diapers (sizes 2 and up)
  • Personal Hygiene items (maxi pads, etc.)

NOTE: The WRP also accepts donations of dog and cat food.

Remember, you can drop off your donations at any time! A blue donation bin is available at each of the church's entrances, and we regularly empty the bins to make room for additional items. If you have any questions, please contact Alison Morrow.
