December 11, 2020

Greetings!

After more than 13 years of service, Leslie Mortimer, Adult Services Manager will be retiring on December 18. During her tenure, Leslie has planned many wonderful adult programs such as her popular film series, musical events, and guest lectures, including talks by Senator George Mitchell and Colin Woodard. Leslie also has done an outstanding job selecting materials for our collections, and supervising reference and circulation staff.

Please join me in wishing Leslie a very happy and fulfilling retirement. She will be missed.

A Magazine for Every Mood

As we hunker down for the winter season, and review an unconventional year, many of us have identified things we miss, or perhaps we've taken up a new interest. If you are feeling a little wanderlust, consider checking out some of our travel magazines. All periodicals circulate, and can be requested for curbside pickup. Similarly, if you have taken on a few home renovation projects, experimented more in the kitchen, become more interested in international news, or simply developed an even deeper appreciation for the state of Maine, we've got great periodicals for those topics as well! And if you're trying to think of a gift for someone who seemingly has everything already, consider sponsoring a periodical in their name! We'll send you a lovely acknowledgement card to share with your honoree. Browse our periodicals seeking a sponsor here.

Giving Tuesday Update

Lastly, we'd love to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who made gifts to the library on Giving Tuesday. With your outpouring of kindness, we raised $2,124.00 on this global day of generosity. We are truly humbled. Thank you!
