Prayer List
During the days ahead, may
"the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds."
(Philippians 4:7)
This week we pray for:
Otis Whitmore
Prayers for Otis who is self-isolating after possible exposure to the virus at Meatheads Union this past week.
Barbara Watkins
Prayers of comfort for the family of Leonard Watkins, who passed away on September 21st of this year in Akron, Ohio. Leonard is the husband of Barbara Watkins, daughter of long-standing WPC member Barbara Norris. Barbara and Leonard had attended services many times over the years while visiting Barbara Norris.
Chad, the Iams' nephew
Prayer for Chad who was diagnosed with Covid last week.
Joshua Amimo's brother, Tobias Ng'uono Amimo and their family
Prayers for Tobias, and their family, as they mourn Joshua's sister in-law Caren who passed away last week after delivering a healthy baby boy, due to postpartum complications. She left behind 4 children.
Prayers of gratitude for all of you who contributed to the Peace and Global Witness offering, showing your commitment to be accomplices in building the Beloved Community. We raised $700.
Prayers for those who struggle with isolation due to the pandemic; who miss the comfort of a hug or hand shake; whose emotional and mental health is affected by the lack of in-person contact.
Prayers for those affected by Hurricane Delta, the 25th named storm in 2020, in communities around the Gulf of Mexico.
Prayers for students, teachers and administrators at the College of Wooster and in all the schools in our community as they continue to grapple with challenges related to rising numbers of Covid infections.
Prayers for all of those affected by the new waves of Covid-19 infections in this country and across the world. We pray for wisdom and guidance for all decision makers, for health-workers caring for the sick; for essential workers who assure that we can go on with our daily business; those who lost loved ones. May each of us do everything to protect the wellbeing and safety of others.
During this election season, as we are overwhelmed with so much divisive rhetoric, we pray for wisdom and guidance so our faith community could show love and compassion in the face of hatred.
