Announcements
You’re Invited!

We will be hosting our press conference on November 10, 2022 at 9am at the National Lighthouse Museum at 200 The Promenade at Lighthouse Point, Staten Island for the official public unveiling of our new rebranding as Nonprofit Staten Island.
The November 2022 election is your chance to consider proposed changes to the New York City Charter—our city’s constitution. How? There are three ballot questions on the back of your ballot that you can vote yes or no on.

Learn more this upcoming Monday as we host ED Harold Miller Jr. for a conversation on how these ballot measures impact nonprofits!

Also, take the pledge to flip your ballot over when you vote on November 8!
SI COAD Updates
COVID Bivalent Boosters are available!

Updated (bivalent) boosters became available on:
  • September 2, 2022, for people 12 years of age and older
  • October 12, 2022, for people aged 5–11

CDC recommends everyone stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines for their age group:

Getting a COVID-19 vaccine after you recover from COVID-19 infection provides added protection against COVID-19.

If you recently had COVID-19, you may consider delaying your next vaccine dose (primary dose or booster) by 3 months from when your symptoms started or, if you had no symptoms, when you first received a positive test.

People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised have different recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines.
  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster recommendations may be updated as CDC continues to monitor the latest COVID-19 data.
MVP Vaccination

SI COAD Partner Super Health Pharmacy now has the MPV vaccine. If you’re concerned that you’re at risk of catching MPV (aka Monkeypox) consider stopping by and getting an MPV vaccine!

Staten Islanders have a dedicated MPV helpline operated by Project Hospitality. Anyone can call 718-608-7900 to learn more about symptoms, prevention, and first and second dose vaccine appointments.

Eligibility has been expanded! Now anyone of any sexual orientation or gender identity who is at risk for MPV can get vaccinated.

There are first and second dose appointments available. All City-run sites also accept walk-ins. You should get a second dose at least 28 days after your first dose.
