Greek Historical Film

Kapodistrias (The Governor)

Coming to U.S. Theaters

Leadership 100 is pleased to share news of a nationwide theatrical screening of Kapodistrias (The Governor), the #5 highest-grossing Greek film of all time, coming to theaters across the United States for one night only on April 22, 2026.

Directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Yannis Smaragdis, the film tells the true story of Ioannis Kapodistrias — Greece's first Governor following the War of Independence — and his pivotal role in laying the foundations of the modern Greek state through unity, integrity, and public service.

This is a meaningful opportunity for Hellenes across the Greek American community, especially younger generations, to reconnect with their heritage and reflect on the ideals that shaped modern Greece.

Tickets are on sale now for this one-night event on April 22, across theaters in the United States.
