DISCOVERY DAYS 2026
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Discovery Days took place this past Thursday and Friday, and it was an incredible two days filled with hands-on learning, exploration, and real-world experiences for our high school students.
With a wide variety of sessions to choose from, students had the opportunity to learn both on and off campus. Guest instructors joined us on campus to lead sessions in areas like finance, social work, drama/improv, worship, forensics, and creative arts. Off campus, students experienced hands-on learning through local businesses, outdoor activities, and community partnerships—visiting local businesses like McDonald’s and Domino’s, exploring sustainable cooking at The Skagit Table, participating in fitness training at Gritworks, and even hiking at Deception Pass. Public safety sessions with the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office gave students a closer look at careers in law enforcement, and at the courthouse, students had the opportunity to speak with judges, commissioners, and local attorneys—and even sit in on a real courtroom hearing.
A huge thank you to our guest speakers, community partners, and staff who made these two days possible. It was a meaningful and memorable experience for all involved!
