Greenview Students Raise Awareness, Funds for Breast Cancer

Greenview’s National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) students demonstrated leadership, compassion, and teamwork in October as they successfully raised $800 to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Their efforts were part of an initiative to promote community service and increase awareness of breast cancer research.

To raise funds, students organized and operated a school store, managing everything from setup to customer service. In addition to running the store, they sold specially designed shirts to staff members districtwide.

The NEHS members worked hard throughout the project, balancing responsibilities, collaborating on tasks, and staying focused on their shared goal. Their efforts not only raised awareness and funds for an important cause, but also showed the power of young leaders coming together to create positive change within their community.

Strategic Planning - Parent Listening Session

The district is at a pivotal moment as we prepare for the development of a new Strategic Plan for the district. It covers a wide variety of topics that are important to our schools and community – including academics, finances, programming, facilities, technology, culture, and communications.

We want to make sure we are hearing from our main stakeholders, our parents. Your thoughts and opinions are an important part of this process and key to ensuring that we are heading in the right direction.

That is why we are inviting you to attend our upcoming parent listening session on Wednesday, January 28, at 6 p.m. at the Brush Cafeteria. The listening sessions will be facilitated by independent moderators. Everything you say will be kept confidential and will only be used in the context of a summary report. Your name will not be used in the report.

Please RSVP using this Google form.

Winter Weather Safety Reminder

As winter weather sets in, this is a friendly reminder that custodial and maintenance crews will be actively clearing snow and ice. They're doing important work to keep parking lots and building entrances safe.

Please be mindful of high traffic areas, parking spots, and arrival times to ensure a safety for all!

National PTA Provides SEL Staff a Boost!

SEL PTA Council is excited to share that we have received a generous donation of 7,000 K-Cups from National PTA for our incredible teachers and staff! This gift allows us to show a little extra appreciation to the people who work so hard each day to support, guide, and inspire our students.

Over the next few weeks, we will be coordinating with our school PTAs to distribute the K-Cups across the district. Our goal is to make sure every building’s staff enjoys this small but meaningful boost because we all know that a good cup of coffee can make a long school day just a little brighter!

We are deeply grateful to National PTA for this opportunity to support (and caffeinate!) our dedicated educators. Their generosity helps us continue our mission of championing our schools, strengthening our community, and celebrating the amazing work happening in SEL every day.
