A Message from Nicole

Ahh, spring! It’s a time not only to be outside, but it is also a time to shop outside. Farmers and growers start bringing fresh produce to the Mississippi Farmers Market. Bakers bring fresh breads and baked goods along with vendors bringing canned jellies, jams, and honey. Other items such as milk, cheese, and fresh eggs complete a "table" of offerings for you and your family. It’s a time to get "out" again and take advantage of the opportunity to connect with your local growers and get advice on how to prepare healthy meals using locally grown produce. Buying locally grown products supports Mississippi agriculture and the local economy. We are excited to be a part of the Mississippi Farmers Market and support our local vendors, both old and new. Visit the Market and "grow with us" as we kick off a season of new possibilities!
Super Bowl Weekend
This Sunday is the day of Super Bowl 55! At Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the Kansas City Chiefs (Super Bowl 54's winner) will face off against Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. (CT).

Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan will sing the national anthem together, and H.E.R. will perform "America the Beautiful." The Weeknd will perform during the halftime show, scheduled to take the stage around 7:30 p.m. (CT).

The game will be televised by CBS and livestreamed on the CBS All Access app.

Game Day calls for fresh snacks with your Market ingredients. Be creative on your Saturday trip to the Market. Game Day snacks that you can create with the Market's ingredients include spinach dip, turnip fries, salad, sweet potato fries, bacon-wrapped sweet potato bites, and relish cheese spread. You can even stock up on peach and apple turnovers to pass out to everyone at your Super Bowl gathering. (Don't forget to practice physical distancing and wear your mask if the gathering will include people outside of your household.)

Swing by the Market this Saturday for fresh Game Day snacks and appetizers to enjoy the game and performances even more!
