What would help? I appreciate the feedback I am getting from people as I take a wild shot in the dark as to what would be useful, interesting or amusing to you in this changed world and industry. Two words I promised not to use except this once: pivot and unprecedented. They go the same place curate did.
Is your email changing? And do you still want to get this? Let me know.
Just in case you missed the last edition, here is a link to it for you
Got a question? Want me to find something for you? Did you get this forwarded to you? If you would like to be on the list, text MEETGUIDE to 22828. Or just sign up

Things that interest, and probably amuse me
If you have been reading this for a year or so, you probably know that Biscoff cookies have won my heart. Never had them before the airlines got into them. Can’t wait to try these!
And another obsession? Peeps. This article is from spring, but hopefully they will keep making it!
And this year I will definitely be planning a Peeps Contest!
More to follow!

Travel
Here’s what travelers are most concerned about right now
Next issue---Roadtripping!

Creativity in the time of COVID.
In April I did a
virtual
presentation called
Creation is the Opposite of Destruction
.
It’s on the importance I have found of creating (and creativity) when part or all of your life has been destroyed. It can be for fun and amusement, or it can be part of your purpose.
This one is purely for laughs for those who miss travel similar to the flight attendant ones I posted a while ago. And we do need to laugh!
And this too:
49 Cool and Inspiring Things People Have Created
And Heather Eick, CMP sent me info on these—you have probably seen the pictures, but may not have known where to get them Red, Yellow and Green wristbands to let people know how you want to interact with them.
More FUN!
AC Anders, CMP is someone I had the pleasure to get to know from MPI-NE and my CMP class. After the last issue she emailed me about some of the FUN things her company is doing. And any company that has “FUN” in the name (and has a CMP), is someone worth talking too. Caricatures, Tarot Cards, Psychic Readings, Airbrush Art, Paint Parties, Game Shows, Magic Shows…or even an Escape Room experience.
Here’s an article about gift boxes and swag bags and how to use them now for many purposes:
But here is something we need to remember. Promotional Products are frequently terrible for the environment. Think before you buy!
And Domino’s has a Pizza Concierge and actually did before COVID-19. They can arrange for pizza to go all over the country to your attendees or office!
And also don’t forget the AVFX Quiz Show next week:

Special note for those of you who have taken my CMP class,
through my company, any time in the past 20 years: You can come back to another class at no additional charge. It even counts for recertification hours.
Unfortunately anywhere I was hired by another organization does not apply, such as MPI Global Events, SGMP and some chapters. If you never finished, or let it lapse, contact me. This is what I am now calling “Take as many times as you want to hang out with me” as opposed to “Take Twice”.

CMP
Those of you who have not started or finished the process to CMP—Now is the time.
Why?
Because EIC has now made the testing cycle available all 12 months, and you can now test from home in addition to the testing center
.
If you are already scheduled for a testing center and want to change to in home testing, you can do so through July 31 for no additional charge.
If you are beginning the process and want an overview that will answer many of your questions,
here is a one hour information session I partnered with MPI Global for
Did you get accepted but your preparation and testing got delayed because of COVID-19?
EIC automatically extended everyone with an active eligibility window as of May 15 ninety extra days to ensure no one was penalized for the missing exam window.
Right now there are numerous places to take free sessions to get the 25 Continuing Education Hours you need.
Wondering how you should prepare? Read this about finding the right way to prepare---for YOU.
Are you interested in taking my class?
You can pay once and take as many times as you want. I have payment plans and will work with you to make it happen.
My CMP classes will all be virtual from now till Summer 2021, at various times of the day to allow for worldwide time zones. Upcoming classes July, September, November of 2020. For more information: about the July class:
Need to convince a decision maker who signs off on the money that the organization, not just you, will benefit?
Need to recertify your CMP this year? If you passed in 2015, 2010, 2005, 2000, 1995....1990? The answer is YES.

Speakers for Our Times
Why do I say they are Speakers for our times? Partially the topics, partially for the need to diversify who is on stage---not
all
white, straight men. That does not mean
no
white, straight men. This has been a hot topic in our industry for at least 5-6 years. And trust me, as a woman who speaks, it is frustrating that I hear that in the meetings industry, and go to National Speakers Association and see so much diversity in every demographic----believe me there are speakers from every demographic and on every topic. In the end you need to look at what your---yes again---goals and objectives are.
A Certified Speaking Professional, (CSP) is quite a process with an evaluation of five years of your work (short explanation).

I want to introduce you to Linda Swindling, yes, she is a lawyer and Certified Speaking Professional, a great speaker and person to work with, and even be around. Funny on stage and off, sharp as a tack, and someone who is great at getting people through tough times…like now.
I love her tag line:
Empowering Leaders to Negotiate Everything from Big Deals to Work Drama…using proven strategies that drive results without driving others away.
Work Drama? Does that still happen?
She says her clients are looking for encouragement and strategy. Most are leaders and emerging leaders who have a responsibility to drive results and help inspire others. With the economic and social turmoil, everyone has to maximize their efforts internally and externally.
When negotiating tough times, there are fewer deals and higher risks..
