Thursday’s Holiday Party drew 140 at the Patterson Club. The only glitch was a car crash (no Y’s Men involved) before the event that delayed some members' arrival. President Bruce Borner was among those taking photos, look for them on the Private Y’s Men Facebook.
Knocking out the tunes was a band of doctors (DNR). One Y’s Man remarked that if you were going to have an incident, this was the party to have it happen between the band members and all the Y’s Men doctors in the room.
Thanks to Dewey Loselle for organizing the event in a new way that expedited check-in and bar tickets, and to Susan Loselle and Lauren Siegert for quadruple-checking the ticket list and name tags.
The Report
The Y’s Men Membership Committee, including Nabil Atweh, Bill Blaufuss, Ron Holtz, Steve Kunkes, Harvey Luft, and Baxter Urist, met on Tuesday to discuss plans for the New Member Luncheon in February. The luncheon is funded separately through initiation fees and is to introduce new members to leaders of the 35 Y’s Men activities.
New Intro Format
New Member Intros is a popular feature here. It started with very brief intros. We expanded them. Some members like them longer, others pushed back, saying they read this newsletter on their smartphones and seek a shorter version.
Thanks to Communications Director Dick Kalt, we will be featuring both versions. You will see the brief intro and a link that will put you into Y’s Men’s Bios & Photos page that Bruce created earlier this year. It may require a one-time login but you should enter automatically next time.
