CTAC’s Leadership, 46 Years of Accomplishment, and Impact Ahead

Dear Friends:

After more than 4 years of careful planning, the CTAC Board of Directors is pleased to announce two significant changes in leadership.

Bill Slotnik, our Founder and CEO, is transitioning to the role of CEO Emeritus. Bill is going to continue to provide strategic counsel and programmatic support to the center. We are grateful to Bill for his outstanding transformational leadership. Under his guidance, CTAC has become a trailblazer in education and community development, implementing innovative programs and building the capacity of leaders and organizations to significantly impact their communities.

Jeff Edmison, our Chief Officer of National Field Operations, is transitioning to the role of CEO. Jeff is highly regarded throughout the country by our partners and funders. Over Jeff’s 13-year tenure with the organization, he has expanded programming and heightened CTAC’s growth and reach. He has a proven track record of directing complex initiatives and is uniquely qualified to steer CTAC’s continued growth and impact.

These changes will take effect over the fourth of July holiday.

CTAC is well-poised and ready to assist communities and organizations to face the uncertainties and challenges that lie ahead for our nation. We will

  • Continue to help states and districts to address education workforce needs and capacity building through our Center for Recruitment, Development, and Retention.
  • Expand the implementation of our PreK-12 STEM pathway, which provides robust STEM curriculum and instruction for all students and has demonstrated significant learning gains for multilingual learners.
  • Focus on turning around chronically low-performing schools and districts.
  • Develop leadership pipelines for teachers and school and district leaders.
  • Increase the impact of emerging and experienced charter networks through the CTAC Charter Center.
  • Fortify community-based organizations and coalitions that are the bedrock of American democracy and an engaged citizenry.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to quality, integrity, and innovation.

Please join us in celebrating CTAC’s 46 years of accomplishment and, looking ahead, in partnering to strengthen our communities at a time of great need.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mónica Byrne-Jiménez

President, CTAC Board of Directors
