PBA Sends Letter to Governor Wolf Continuing Advocacy Efforts
Dear Members,
This week, PBA's chair John Bailey sent a letter to Governor Wolf requesting additional help for our members. Governor Wolf has received many letters from us over the past year or so. Here is an excerpt from the letter. The full letter will be in Tuesday's Go News (newsletter):
"PBA sincerely appreciates your continued leadership in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and urges you to please speak with the PA Congressional Delegation and request their assistance to address this oversight as Congress considers the reconciliation legislation to enact President Biden’s American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan. Specifically, we are respectfully requesting the inclusion of $6 billion in additional funding for the CERTS program. In addition, the PBA respectfully requests your assistance for pandemic relief assistance from any unspent American Rescue Plan funding, like was recently announced to provide relief for the salon industry."
Last Friday, we sent you a request to contact your representatives. We are reminding you today to please act, if you have not done so yet, and share with your friends and family. PBA has posted the links on all our social channels in addition to sending emails.
Further, our national associations (ABA and UMA), have shared easy-to-use, one-click campaigns to reach our representatives. Please use these, or simply write a letter, or call. Your voice is the most powerful voice to our representatives who you vote into office.
Again, the U.S. Treasury has confirmed that the needs of the motorcoach industry far exceeded the funding level of the CERTS Act grant program by nearly $7 billion. In addition, that funding was based on the industry’s losses in 2020 and does not even consider the significant losses in 2021.
As Congress considers the reconciliation legislation to enact President Biden’s American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan, we are requesting the inclusion of $6 billion in additional funding for the CERTS program.
Please see the below links for a one-click approach to contact Congress....and please share!
