Before going any further, I’d like to wish all celebrants a Happy Hannukah! I hope this email finds you well after the exhilaration of last night’s board meeting. It was good to “see” and hear from folks whether they were themselves or making an appearance under an alias
With over 100 attendees, including 38 board members, representatives from all levels of government, and community stakeholders, we had a good turnout. We approved all 5 items on our voting agenda after thoughtful discussion. We heard 2 landmark items, two land-use items, and one liquor license application.
The landmarks items were both in the Park Slope historic district. At 473 9th Street, the first was to legalize a reduction in size for the 2nd and 3rd-floor windows in a previously approved alteration to the rear facade. The other landmark item was for 282 Garfield Place to amend a Certificate of No Effect and allow new, larger masonry openings at the 2nd and 3rd floors and the penthouse and relocate two stained-glass windows.
If that brief overview of last night’s meeting left you want to view it or relive it, you can watch it here on Youtubeand get ahead of the pack for the January general board meeting byregistering here. If committee meetings are what you crave, register for the December 21st Economic, Waterfront, Community Development, and Housing meeting here, and you’ll be all set to hear about plans for Governors Island and more as the agenda develops.
Some things are happening inside and outside CB6’s sphere of influence that you’ll find listed below my email signature, and I recommend you check them out.
No matter what, stay safe and enjoy the rest of your Thursday.
P.S Please forgive any typos or brain freezes in the text as I get these updates out in haste at the end of the day, and if there is a community-centric item you think I should know aboutplease reach out.
