D89 Basketball league open for registration

Registration is open now through November 1 for D89 Basketball! The season runs from mid-November through the end of February and costs $65 per player. Financial assistance is available for families who need it so all students have the opportunity to participate.

The league will start with player evaluations and team selection, planned for the first or second week of November. Exact dates and locations will be announced shortly.

Teams will practice once a week on a weeknight at one of the four elementary schools. Coaches will determine practice days and times after teams are selected. Games will take place on Saturday mornings. Season dates and additional details are still being finalized, and the league website will continue to be updated over the coming weeks.

We need your help! This league is only possible because of volunteers. Please consider getting involved as a head coach, assistant coach, or referee this season.

Questions? Contact D89BBALL@gmail.com for more information or questions about financial assistance. Hope to see your students on the court!

District emergency test call planned for Friday, October 23

CCSD 89 will be conducting a test of the district's emergency phone contact system at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 23. All families should expect to receive a call at this time to every guardian's phone number registered with the district.

If you receive the call at the phone number you would like to be reached at in an emergency, there is nothing else you need to do.

This call is a test only, designed to ensure that the district has accurate phone contacts for every student to be used in case of emergency. The test is conducted annually on a day when students will not be in school.

If you do not receive a call by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, you need to contact your school secretary to ensure the school has your correct information. More information and reminders will be sent in advance of the test call.
