Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a highly effective, medication-free, FDA-approved treatment for depression and anxiety. It has been available at our New Britain location for more than a year and now is offered at One Hope Street, Bristol.
Wheeler is the only community health center provider in Connecticut offering TMS at any location.

Wheeler Welcomes New Trustee,
Gary Rhule, MD, MPH, MBA

Gary Rhule, MD, MPH, MBA, serves as the interim chief medical officer of CVS Aetna Better Health, Aetna Healthcare, in California, its medical director in Kentucky, and serves as an associate clinical professor in the Urban Services Track at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Due to his childhood struggles with asthma, Rhule has developed a deep interest in medicine, driven by firsthand experience with health challenges. His personal journey gives him a unique understanding of the issues Wheeler works to address, fostering empathy for those dealing with chronic conditions. Rhule's own experiences inspired him to join Wheeler's board, believing that their combined knowledge can make a meaningful difference in improving the well-being of others.

Wheeler Receives Recognition for Leadership by Women,
Professional Development

Wheeler has been named a Top Workplace for professional development of its staff and for being a woman-led organization.
In September, Wheeler earned Top Workplace for the eighth time since 2013, in addition to receiving a special award for our managers. It comes on the heels of being named a national 2024 Healthcare Industry Top Workplace over the summer.

Wheeler Health Begins Residency Program in Primary Care, Psychiatry | | |

Wheeler Health has begun its first residency program for nurse practitioners and physician assistants, designed to cultivate clinical leaders in community health.
The inaugural class of four primary care and psychiatry residents, Danielle Luft, APRN, Jenna Lundquist, DNP, Jenna Rossi, PMHNP-BC, MSN, CNL, and Christian Todzia, APRN-FNP, started in September, the result of more than two years of planning and development.

In September, Joshua Jones, MD, was named 'Healthcare Hero' in the physician category by the Hartford Business Journal.
Jones graduated from UConn on the Urban Service Track and completed his residency at Middlesex Hospital Family Medicine in the Behavioral Health Track. His medical interests include addiction medicine, LGBTQIA+ care, and high-quality primary care for underserved groups.
