Meet Elizabeth
Our Newest Office Team Member!
We’re thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to the Autumn Tree Lawn and Landscape office team 🌳 She joined us at the beginning of April and is already catching on quickly. While she’s new to the green industry, her eagerness to learn and positive attitude have made her a great addition from day one. Outside the office, Elizabeth is an active mom who loves spending time outdoors and bringing her dogs along for the adventure, including to work. Be sure to say hello and help us give her a warm welcome.

We’re seeing increasing damage from sap suckers on trees in the Willow Brook area, just like what you see in the photos. These birds harvest pests after drilling into the tree bark, and unfortunately, their activity can severely stress trees over time.
While there’s not much we can do to reverse the damage, one supportive measure we may attempt is root system stabilization soil injection.

Our recommendation: Preventative spray treatments for engraver beetles. Stressed trees bring pests, pests bring sap suckers. Get ahead of the cycle.
If your trees are affected or showing signs of bark damage, don’t hesitate to reach out.

2025 Denver Watering Rules
Help keep your landscape healthy and protect our water supply by following Denver’s simple summer watering guidelines. From May 1 through October 1, watering is only allowed before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m., during the cooler parts of the day. Avoid water waste by keeping water off concrete, fixing leaks within 10 days, and never watering in rain or high wind.
If you're planting new seed or sod, you may water as needed for up to 21 days, but an exemption is required for areas larger than 250 sq. ft. Composting before planting can also improve results and reduce water needs.
If you see water being wasted, don’t hesitate to report it at 3-1-1. Let’s work together to keep our landscapes green and our water use smart!

Its Planting Season
When you plant a new tree, it’s not just about getting it in the ground, it’s about giving it the best chance to thrive. One of the most important steps after planting is supplemental watering.
Newly planted trees face a critical adjustment period as they work to establish their root systems. Unlike established trees, they can't easily access deeper soil moisture. Without consistent supplemental watering, young trees are at high risk of drought stress, poor growth, or even.. dun dun dun... DEATH.
How Much and How Often?
During the first two years, your tree will need regular watering.
First 6–8 Weeks After Planting:
- Check soil moisture every 4–5 days.
- Slowly soak the root zone by running a hose at half pressure for several minutes until the planting hole is thoroughly wet.
- Allow the soil to partially dry between waterings.
After 8 Weeks:
- Water every 10–14 days, adjusting based on the weather.
- During hot or dry spells, monitor soil moisture more often and water as needed.
Signs Your Tree Needs Water:
- Wilting or yellowing leaves
- Dry or cracked soil around the base
- Stunted growth
Healthy trees are an investment in your landscape’s future beauty and value. A few minutes with the hose now can mean decades of shade, color, and joy later. And don't forget we're here to help, weather its a one time visit or once a month. Autumn Tree offers a supplemental watering service for: vacation coverage, non-irrigated areas, construction-related watering, and winter watering.
