Executive Director's Notes
By Franҫoise Rhodes
There are so many people to thank for Borrego Days, but we'll start with the Volunteer Committee Chairs:
Beer Garden Overall - Rachel Rench
Beer Garden Service - Morgan Larson
Chamber Booth - Judy Lewis
Car Show - Alexander Jones
Parade - Daniel Wright
Vendors - Bonnie L. Smith
Volunteers - Joy McBride
That's right, this group of people coordinated their area with expertise, with each one having from one volunteer up to 22 to help.
Continued series about Chambers: Chambers have been around for over 400 years with the first one starting in France. Each Chamber is different in how they function in that area. The BSCC is not only an advocate for the area, working behind the scenes on a constant basis, but front and center promoting local businesses and organizations.
Human-Centric Connection: In an era dominated by digital automation and AI, chambers provide face-to-face community infrastructure and local reputation-building that algorithms cannot replicate.
BSCC offers members several ways to promote, from the website listing, website referrals, business card display, rack information display, visitor guide listing, weekly eblast listing and spotlights, mixers, events calendar on the website, flyer distribution at the farmer's market. Plus you cannot pay enough for the verbal communication with our Chamber Team.
Much of what I write is free for every member, but it is up to members to take an initiative and provide the information, post on their page of the website and share materials.
Take a moment an try and price this out through internet exposure, first you cannot receive it all and second the costs would be sky high. Borrego Springs is not the big city, and many of our visitors and locals come to the Chamber for a human connection as they are worn out through searches, bad directions and misinformation. The reason for this Chamber series is so perhaps everyone will have a better understanding with what the Chamber does. Different membership levels offer different options of use, starting at a business membership for $150 up to $1,000 annually. We do have something for everyone, even individuals.
