MISOGYNY AND CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM

FEATURING HEGSETH’S PASTOR WHO WANTS

WOMEN KEPT OUT OF MILITARY LEADERSHIP

The misogyny of Christian nationalism “wants to replace our democracy with this barbaric version of Christianity, and an essential part of that is male dominance … It’s right out of Handmaid’s Tale.”

How segments of Christianity overlap with the manosphere and what it means for women

USA Today covers the misogyny of Christian nationalism, highlighting defense secretary Pete Hegseth’s pastor Douglas Wilson, who preaches that women shouldn’t be allowed to vote or serve in combat or leadership positions in the military.

The article quotes Wilson saying of the role of women: “Women are the kind of people that people come out of ... It doesn't take any talent to simply reproduce biologically.”

Mikey Weinstein is also quoted in the article, telling USA Today that the misogyny of Christian nationalism “wants to replace our democracy with this barbaric version of Christianity, and an essential part of that is male dominance … It’s right out of Handmaid’s Tale.”

This Is What Criticism of

the President Cost Me

By: Paisley Rekdal

Tuesday, September 9, 2025

In this New York Times opinion piece, author and poet Paisley Rekdal speaks out about her planned lecture at the Air Force Academy being canceled, writing:

“Imagine my shock when I learned that the talk was canceled not because of my book’s subject matter but because the academy, under its superintendent, Lt. Gen. Tony D. Bauernfeind, had discovered that some of my comments on social media ‘were disparaging of the commander in chief,’ and so having me speak would violate the academy’s ‘non-partisan obligation,’ it said in a statement.”

The Air Force Academy has of course let Trump sycophants who criticized President Biden while he was commander in chief speak at the Academy — like former Trump HUD secretary Ben Carson, who said that God wanted Trump to be president
