Happy June - Thank you for reading!

On May 17, students, families, and board members celebrated Graduation and College Signing Day. The event was generously hosted by Passaic County Community College and the Coordinator of Admissions and Financial Aid Services at PCCC, Maritza Davila. Actor and guest speaker Jessica Marie Garcia offered words of wisdom to our students and families.

Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate the achievements of our students.

With the help of their “near-peer” mentors, these fifteen graduating Fellows gained confidence, communication, and leadership skills; navigated the world of college applications, financial aid, and scholarships; and communicated their goals to their families.

Question: What happens next?

Shortly, we will welcome 22 new MTB High School Fellows. We can't wait!

Our rising seniors will be learning more about our summer program. We hope they will take some time this summer to think more about their options and choices, work on their essays, prepare for the challenges of financial aid, and more. They'll earn a $200 stipend for completing this work!

Many of our graduating high school seniors are off to EOF summer programs, and some will be staying with MTB as they transition into the role of College Student Leader. Over the summer, they'll train with returning College Student Leaders, our Social Work Interns, and our Program Resource Fellows, Ashley and Manan, to take on the challenge of serving as MTB mentors!
