“Coffee” with the City of Lafayette Mayor and Vice Mayor

Last month, the Lafayette City Council set its top priorities for the year ahead. These priorities will help shape the City of Lafayette’s plan and budget beginning July 1.

Join Mayor Carl Anduri and Vice Mayor John McCormick for an update on what the Council prioritized, and why, followed by live Q&A.

We’ll cover:

  • Wildfire preparedness: Reducing fire risk, strengthening evacuation planning, and improving coordination with regional partners like ConFire.
  • Mt. Diablo Blvd. and downtown improvements: Improving traffic flow, parking strategy, and safer pedestrian and bike access to better connect residents and visitors with our downtown businesses.
  • Future of our recreation facilities: Evaluating options for the aging Community Center, addressing our athletic field shortage, and identifying financially sustainable solutions.

These priorities have real implications for residents and our local business community. This is an opportunity to hear directly from City leadership and ask questions about what’s ahead.

❓ Questions may be submitted in advance to holly@lafayettechamber.org or asked live during the Zoom session.

Parcel Tax Measure Public Hearing

The Governing Board of the Lafayette School District will hold a public hearing on March 3 on a proposal for the District to submit a parcel tax measure to the District’s voters at the statewide election to be held on June 2.

The proposal asks the voters for approval to levy a qualified special tax (parcel tax) on all taxable, non-exempt real property within the District. This would replace and increase the existing Measure L parcel tax in order to raise funds to support critical educational programs and services in the Lafayette schools. The Board will consider taking final action on the proposal at this meeting.

Contact Melissa P. Dodd, Chief Business Official, at (925) 927-3504 or mdodd@lafsd.org for more information.
