| | Message from Principal Hamilton | As we approach the celebration of Halloween, I wanted to share with you why, as Catholic Christians, it can be deeply meaningful to celebrate this evening with joy and purpose. Far from being merely a secular holiday or something to avoid, Halloween can serve as an opportunity for faith, remembrance, evangelization, and building up the kingdom of God in our families and community. | Here are a few articles that help us to understand the Catholic roots of Halloween, and more importantly, the beautiful tradition we have in celebrating Allhalowtide - beginning with All Hallows Eve, continuing through All Hallows (All Saints), and All Souls: | As the authors of these articles explain, our society may be using a traditional Catholic feast to glorify evil, but this shouldn’t stop us from fully celebrating these great feasts in the proper Catholic way, nor should it stop Catholics from enjoying Halloween as a vigil celebration of the great feast of All Saints. | At Everest, we remember the Christian origins of the holiday and celebrate accordingly. Activities such as our All Saints Celebration, All Souls Pilgrimage, and ofrenda altar for the dead help our students to be witnesses that build up the culture of life - to help lift eyes towards heaven, glorify the saints, and pray for the faithful departed. In my own family, when I took my children trick-or-treating, they accepted candy but they also offered to pray for our neighbors’ loved ones who had passed away. When we did our cemetery visits the following week, we would include these souls in our prayers. | I am looking forward to our All Saints Celebration at school tomorrow. Please join us for our All Saints Parade that will lead us into our All School Mass. May our activities this weekend be safe, joyful, and rooted in the truth of our Catholic faith - pointing ourselves and others to the beatific vision that awaits us in heaven. | Rejoicing in gratitude for God's blessings, | | Many thanks to our Lady Knights for showing true fighting spirit this weekend! They may not have won, but they embodied our virtue of the month—fortitude—playing with heart and perseverance until the very last point! Congratulations to Vera Lambert for being named Tri-County Catholic Conference All-Conference for the 2025 volleyball season! | | 👶 Welcome, Anne Elizabeth Gal! | | Congratulations to Mrs. Gal and her family on the joyful arrival of their new baby girl, Anne Elizabeth! We celebrate this beautiful gift of life and join the Gal family in thanking God for their newest blessing. 💗 | | As the weather gets cooler, please remember to send your child to school each day with a coat, hat, and gloves. Our students go outside for recess whenever possible, and we want everyone to stay warm and comfortable while enjoying fresh air and playtime! | | 📣 Call for Wine Donations! 🍷 | | Dear Parents, we are seeking donations for bottles of wine for the Gala. Please drop off at the front office. Thank you! | | 🍸 Step Into the Roaring Twenties! ✨ | The Everest Academy Gala will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Crystal Grand in Lemont. This year’s theme is The Great Gatsby! The 1920s were full of flair—women wore flapper dresses or knee-length tubular daywear, while men donned knickerbockers with sweater vests or bold zoot suits. Get creative and have fun dressing the part for this glamorous evening. | | 🎟️ Purchase Your Gala Tickets & Sponsorships | | Registration Open: Boys 5th-7th Basketball | | All students must have a current sports physical in order to practice/play in the games! | | → Thank You, Lunch Moms! A heartfelt thank you to our incredible lunch moms who give their time each week to serve lunches with smiles and care! Your kindness, consistency, and cheerful presence make lunchtime a joy for our students — and we’re so grateful for all you do to keep things running smoothly. | → Many thanks to Miss Olivia Michniak and Mrs.Sherry Fontana for coaching our girls and boys volleyball teams - for helping them to love the sport of volleyball and to play with virtue and sportsmanship. And special thanks to Mr. Martin Jaszczuk for helping them to prepare for their playoff season! | | As Everest Academy celebrates 30 years, we invite you to be part of our future through the 30 for 30 Campaign. Each project represents a meaningful step forward — from enhancing our campus and enriching student experiences to strengthening the faith-based mission at the heart of our school. | Choose the project that inspires you most and make your gift today. Together, we can ensure Everest continues to thrive for the next 30 years and beyond. | |
