Last month, South Central LAMP opened its doors once again to children and families that were very excited to come to school. Some of our little learners have never been to school and were looking forward to making new friends and using the playground. Others had remote learning last year and were happy to be reunited with their teachers and friends - in person finally!
For the women we serve, a community that often feels isolated by facing many challenges, South Central LAMP is more than just an educational center. Many of the women built relationships during their online classes, but being on site made a world of difference for all of them. They have been able to meet and connect in person to others who share similar experiences, developing a support system many of them have not had.
Having on-site classes is not easy, and we are taking all the precautions necessary to ensure everyone is safe. However, we are incredibly happy to welcome our families back to a place where they will not only learn, but also find comfort and support.
